Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Polished off the front suspension overhaul. Will get it aligned and double checked by 4WP this week. Here's all I replaced:

Trackbar (JKS adj.)
Springs / shocks (Old Man Emu)
Sway bar links (IROR)
Tie rod and TREs (ZJ upgrade)
Steering stabilizer
LCAs (factory replacements)

Every time I dive into my Jeep for a project like this I learn so much. One of the many things I love about the Jeep!!

Nice! And welcome! Where about in NC are you? You mention 4wp so i'm assuming either in the Charlotte or Raleigh area lol.

Went camping with the folks and tried out the new Pup.

Is it just me or do you like seeing your Jeep on the move from someone else's point of view? My step dad was driving so I had to take a picture of it.

Packed up a friend's house Saturday night and loaded it in a U-Haul. Drove my pickup to Charlestown Saturday morning and loaded a piano. Then drove to Beaufort and helped unload all we loaded Friday night. Went out for diner and drinks Saturday evening and watch the Clemson game. UGH! Ended up in a hole in the wall bar in Beaufort, SC that was really cool. Helped break up a bar fight between a swabby and a Marine that I happen to be in between the two when it started. One of the people I was with had a DJ friend that invited us to an after party. Ended up back at the hotel at 4am. Man what a night! Sunday I had breakfast with the friend I helped move. Sunday afternoon I spent some time with a friend and his family that I hadn't seen in 2 years or more. They gave me some low country shrimp to take home and cook and eat! Man that was good. All in all a great weekend adventure! I'm sore as hell though.

Nice! sounds like a good time, and in my old stomping grounds.

Awesome pics Andy!

Long night and early morning. Suzie's WJ started acting up again yesterday, rough idle and pulsing. I had a feeling that the injectors were not up to snuff for awhile, so I decided to pull them out and order a brand new set, so I got all that torn apart and ordered last night.

Then realized that we both need a car today, but my XJ was sitting on jack stands while I tried to find a short shaft with the 760 joints so that I could replace the u-joints, hub, and bearing. Planned to put it all together at lunch today so that I could use it this afternoon. Woke up at 6:30 realizing that I needed to get it done before she left because the battery was dead, and if she was gone, I'd not have any way to jump off the XJ.

So, rolled out of bed and redid the drivers side with the old shaft, hub, and bearing, and the new rotor and pads. Then I pushed it out of the garage and jumped it off and took it for a ride. Got to the bottom of the driveway, hit the brakes, and heard a thud and realized right away that I hadn't fully tightened up the lower control arm and it slid backwards about 3/4 of an inch.

Got back to the garage and hooked a chain to the trailer hitch on the ZJ and the axle of the XJ and put enough force on it to pull the axle back forward, then climbed under it in the rain to tighten up the bolt. Then took it for another run.

Now it's sitting half in the garage and half out, running to recharge the battery. It is pouring rain, so I have the hood in the garage so it doesn't rain through the Lebaron vents.

Finally, I checked Facebook, and NAXJA, even though I should have been at work 2 hours ago. I'm thinking about grabbing some breakfast soon, too.

I did realize though, while working on the Jeep this morning that it would sure be great to have a job where I could go in and do nothing but turn wrenches all day long! Anyone have some start up capitol? I have a great business idea....

I want to be a part of this.

Yep. The new 12" wheels look huge on there. I wish I could find a taller tire that'd fit the smaller wheels.

This was before.

I should have taken the opportunity to play with the HDR stuff when I took that picture...

Went to Charlotte, hung out with friends. Got my phone stolen and other friends were harassed in text.... sorry Nick and Tim! Went to some record shops and Ikea up there Saturday. Ate some good food at a place called Cheddar's. Went to see Matt Nathanson Saturday night at Amos's. Great performer by the way. Best $20 concert I have ever been to. Sunday got checked out and went looking for a record store call, "Lunchbox Records." Great store with new vinyl. On the way stumbled across this place called "Joe Hoopers" on the south side. Great little place with some really good food. Learned Joe Hooper was one of the most decorated soldiers and from Pickens, SC. All in all a great weekend with some good friends.

I thought those texts were kinda funny.

Nick on the other hand, not so much :D

Next time you're in IKEA, pick up a container of cinnamon buns on your way out. Some of the best i've had and they're dirt cheap!

Yea well I would have to agree... I don't think Nick was too amused.... Note to self when drinking IPA's lock the phone..... :wierd:

"Where's my droid?" It's a nifty little app.

It's pretty entertaining when I tell my phone to send it's GPS coordinates back to me and then show up where my phone says it is. :)
