I'm down with that. How about we plan for that and you can come visit and help with the motor install.... :)

Met up with a couple of old friends tonight after work and on the way home, came up on a bad accident on the highway just minutes after it happened. At least 8-10 cars from what I counted, and a large variety too. Saw a Tahoe (which had the most damage), a WJ, a 4Runner, a brand new Acura TL, an Econoline van, and a few others but I don't remember what they were. Paramedics were just arriving on the scene as we went by (about 6 fire trucks, 3 EMS and 4 cops). From what it looked like the Tahoe lost it somehow, spun a few times, pinballed off the wall a few times and then stopped facing the wrong way. All the other damaged vehicles were relatively minor which makes me think they were a result of trying to miss the main wreck.

One of those moments where you think later on, "Had I been going through there just a couple minutes sooner, I would have probably been involved in that instead..."

I was sitting at a rest stop on the side of I-26 on the way home from the beach a couple years ago. Traffic had backed up to the exit of the rest stop to almost a stand still but the entrance was still open so I figured we'd stop at the rest stop for a while.

I parked in the row of spots facing the road and got out, sat on the hood and started smoking a cirgarette.

I had been sitting there for a few minutes when a mini van came hauling ass up the road (obvlivious to the stopped traffic) and noticed the traffic at the last minute, slammed on brakes and slid at least 50 feet before letting off the brake to try to aim between the two rows of stopped cars. He side swiped both of the back cars and smacked into one of the cars in front and bounced into the one beside it. (5 cars totaled)

Not 30 seconds later an 18 wheeler came flying over the top of the hill and noticed the traffic. Slammed on brakes and slid probably 100 feet... He slid all the way up to the traffic and bumped the car in the back pretty good but only hard enough to push the back car into the car in front of it. (They were LUCKY, that could have been A LOT worse).

After all this had settled for 2 or 3 minutes, people were out and walking around, another car came flying over the hill (a newer model sports car of some kind). He ran into the back of the truck trailer at at least 45 mph after attempting to stop. The passenger side of the car was taken off by the metal step on the back of the trailer, the car hit the tires and rolled twice and stopped on the roof. He was somehow ok... Had there been a passenger in the passenger seat they wouldn't have been as lucky.

I have pictures somewhere but I can't find them.

OK, I'm done rambling. lol Sorry that was so long.

Hauled off a scrap car this morning. Last week they were paying $14.00/hundred. Today it had dropped to $13.00. Lost about $35 over that.

Wishing I was at StumpFest.

I had two of those. One going back to college, a Suburban pulling a fifth wheel was about a half mile ahead of me and lost control. He rolled it several times on the interstate coming to rest in the median. I was the second car on the scene. The family of 4 got out ok, with all their belongings strewed about. I was the only one on the scene nimble enought, so I climbed into the wrecked trailer and cut off the propane tanks.

Another time I was about 1 mile behind an accident. 5 minutes earlier and I would have been in it, 6 minutes earlier and I would have been in front of it. A guy stole a pick up with a boat attached and lost control taking out 6 other cars and killing a few people in the process. We sat on the interstate for almost 3 hours before we were able to drive through the median and turn around east bound to get onto a back road. We spent that 3 hours playing catch with a football on the side of the road, hiking up to look at the wreck, and talking to the people in the cars beside us.

had an experience like that about 8 years ago-- kinda:

Haloween 2003-- dressed up for work (long dress, wig, heels, etc) and got to sit in traffic on the highway while the state police cleaned up a fatal accident in the only tunnel between home and work. It's no fun trying to explain why you're dresses like a hooker at 06:00 on the side of the interstate:sad1:

I finally met another SEC member. Doug was in town at Hadfields today. Hopefully we will get to wheel at the crawl this summer.

I put my new iPod compatible stereo in my DD 90 XJ. Tomorrow its getting another ECU to try out(low idle problem), the Spectre cowl intake kit and a tune up.

I've been driving the Commander so much that I'm starting to miss driving my XJ daily. The Commander is comfy but doesn't "stand out in a crowd"! Got to get the XJ running again.

Pulled a junkyard alternator and put it in the ZJ. Put in a new starter for the ZJ. Found out it was the battery that was toast and under warranty at Wal-Mart and got a free replacement after 2 years and 9 months of use.

Drove my A$$ and jeepgeek2002's a$$ to Gawgia, worked on XJ's all day with a bunch of like minded nuts... and then drove our a$$es home through the rain, way to late in the day....wasted too much time waiting in line at KFC (and left) and found the COLDEST McDonald's I've ever been in:doh:..... Had A Blast!

Ironically speaking... Andy put in a new stereo but we didnt even listen to it the whole way. lol
