Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I wish someone would put my picture in a mag and give me some tires!

i made it in that magazine and i didn't get anything, though it was in the whoops section....three years ago.....in a TJ.

STILL MADE IT IN A MAG!!

They should send anybody who makes it into the whoops section a free bubba rope:laugh:

Yellowxj was on the cover of one of them recently.

got my copy of 4wor in the mail, installed a new wheel bearing and some big joint shafts in my dana 30, and hung out with watrousmark as we started construction of my front bumper, which is gonna be a little wimpier than the last one we built, since i tried to save money and got a little thinner tubing this time.

tried my hand at welding for the first time today. exhaust looks like it has hemorrhoids :laugh2:. gunna grind that down and try again tomorrow.

been there, done that...... with the same welder. Just let it spit and sputter for a second, and start moving after it starts feeding a steady wire:cheers:
....told ya it wuz a p.o.s. to start on....

p.s. make sure the torch cable is straight as an arrow if you want/need a steady feed!

eh. i practiced on a scrap pipe afterward. got a nice smooth line. now i have to figure out how to get at the top of the pipe...

with an 01 iirc you can unbolt a flange halfway down, remove the exhaust from the rubber hangars, and drop it down about 4" to get at the top of the joint.

87-93?94? or so you can do the same at the 4 bolt flange before the cat. 93?94?95?-99 or so you are SOL, because the damn thing is one solid piece all the way from the header flange to the tailpipe...

This is why I am converting mine to multi-section exhausts with flanges. That, and if I shred part of my exhaust on a rock, I can replace only that part.

way to much rust to pull this off. :repair:

that just means you use an angle grinder instead of a wrench. It's so much faster :gee:

Went to the junk yard and picked up an alternator and a tie rod end for the pitman arm. Also grabbed an Explorer tranny cooler for later down the road. Then picked up a new belt from the parts store.

Did the alternator/belt and tie rod end job tonight. Total cost was $52 in parts. Looked on repairpal.com and for my zip code those 3 jobs cost an estimated $645 in parts and labor. I love being able to save a dollar or five hundred and ninety three!

Make sure you flush that trans cooler out really well, don't want any of the residue from an unknown, possibly-blown trans getting into yours.

I don't know why I don't get the stuff done sooner...

My house is OLD! It's a rinky dink tiny house that we don't have enough room in. It's got an old rusty tin roof that looks horrible but she's got brand spankin new siding on it. Now, If I could just replace the roof It'd look ok from outside.

The house was free so I can't really complain but at the same time I don't really want to sink a bunch of money in it not knowing how much longer I'll be here.

I've already remodeled half the kitchen, all of the bathroom, built a huge deck on the back and did all of the siding. Now I'm contemplating adding a room. What's the going rate for DIY room adding?

April starts working within the next year. Hopefully we can find something affordable to put on our land...

We are terrible at stuff like that. There are a ton of little things that we never finished.

still a hole in the garage ceiling and no shutters on the windows.
