PS, I also got along just fine with a standard hitch. Its good for most stuff up to around 25-30 degrees
You can pretty easily narrow them. I did one on my old Offroad trailer a while back.
This was a Dexter 3500# axle, with electric brakes.

I turned it down in my lathe so it would fit inside the axle tue again.

After it was all welded back together. Take note of the built in camer of the axle, you will want to leave that in.

I love looking at you building stuff. Your fab skills are awesome.
Thought my power sterring pump was going out on the trail rig. Went to PAP and got one and swapped them out. While I was at it, I added a power steering cooler, used to be a tranny cooler on an explorer. Got it all buttoned up and drove it down the road. I still have the same "tight" steering wheel. Apparently it wasn't the pump??:dunno:
I can sit in the driveway and turn the wheel lock to lock with my index finger but when driving it down the road it feels like the wheel doesn't want to turn. I can't make subtle corrections going down the road. I'm sure it looks like I'm drunk, weaving in my lane. Maybe the box is going bad...do they do that? It's not leaking so IDK what the problem is. I'm sure the 37's don't help but this is something that has just started happening. It used to drive just fine and has slowly gotten worse. Any ideas?
