NICE TRUCK!!!!!

I got a 07 Dodge ram 4x4 with the Hemi 5.7. I never got around to put the hitch on it nor get a trailer..lol pathetic aint it?

my last truck was pathetic...06 F150 w/ 5.4. 85,000 miles on it and trans was going out, 4x4 broke, and front end needed work.

I needed a dependable daily driver, and ive been searching for months.

I almost got a 02 F250 2wd. but after going to Morris Mountain and seeing everyone in a 2wd getting stuck i decided on getting the 4x4

Dodge Rocks! Nice truck! 6.7L diesel?

Just got back from takin my kids and wife out to the backside of our property to watch the stars. They wanted to see shooting stars.
2 adults and 2the kids fit nicely on the roof of a cherokee on a memory foam pad.

Drove my Cherokee today! Hot Damn!!

Put it on blocks 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Set out to do a simple locker install which led to discovery of a bent axle, which meant full axle swap, which meant changing ball joints and knuckles, determining my track bar was going to require drilling a 3rd hole in the bracket which I wasn't willing to do, which led to ordering a new adjustable Rough Country track bar, which meant I had to cut off the old track bar and remove the bracket from the frame so that I could use the torch and an air hammer to break it loose from the rust.

And you know what....I had a BLAST doing all that.

On the WJ front, dropped it off at the dealership to repair a severed wire in the drivers door inside the rubber boot between the body and door. Got a call this morning telling me they did the "26 point inspection" and found:
  • leaking thermostat (went bad in 12 months, really..I guess maybe)
  • leaking valve cover gasket
  • fuel pump starting to fail (have to drop the tank...yeah, can't wait for that)
  • fuel filter clogged (yeah probably true, still OEM as far as I know)
  • inoperable power door latch mechanism in the driver door (anyone see an 02-04 WJ in the boneyard, let me know!!!!)
  • transmission seal leaking (planned to do a full service next oil change anyway)
  • oil pan seal leaking
  • rear main seal leaking
And, they'll be happy to fix it all for $2300!
The joys of Jeep ownership....Just Empty Every Pocket.

At least I have some projects to keep me busy.

Took one of the twins to a 9/11 tribute rehersal. Help a friend move and ended up inheriting some audio stuff. Some only temperary. It included a Haffler 500 amp, a Dynaco Amp, an AR sub, a set of AR 90's some BA book shelf speakers, and some Cerwin Vega's that are huge. My den looks like a vintage audio store!

looks good so far-- I was gonna stop bye on the way out yesterday, but forgot two minor details-- no gas and no wallet with me:anon:

Didn't figure a glamor-turquoise-metallic-clearcoated two door would look very nice dead on the side of Hampton Blvd in da hood.

I took the doors of the MJ and tried to take out the windshield....didn't have much luck on that one. It's a good thing it was busted already.

Just got home from wheeling, went to a private piece of land next to the badlands and wheeled with my local club. Man that place was awesome, the "easy trails" were pretty challenging but the jeep worked well and came out with a couple more scrapes but nothing major. It sure didn't sound good a few times though.

Jason Aldean concert Friday night, didn't get home from that till 2:30 in the morning. Spent most of Saturday afternoon at the church for my buddy's wedding, then out with the crew that was in town for the wedding that night. Drove 2 hours today to go help my dad diagnose a car, then stopped by and went out to dinner with my mom to celebrate her new job starting this week.

Non-stop weekend with very minimal sleep, but a good weekend none the less.

the pro tools are awesome, one is basically a really long utility knife blade holder and one of my friends who does glass built some kind of reciprocating saw razor blade setup that makes removing glass really really easy.

Friday I drove home from NYC and the MJ tried to light itself on fire, I had just stopped for a random stranded stranger (overheated, radiator boiled over) because I was stuck in traffic anyways. Went to drive away after filling her radiator back up and all it did was spew gas all over the recently very hot exhaust manifold. So glad I stopped else I would have been on fire 2 miles down the road.

Saturday went wheeling and demolished a d30 stub shaft's yoke ears, ripped the lower balljoint out and bent the upper 20 degrees at the same time for good measure. Putting that back together enough to drive it to camp was fun. Back at camp, stuffed some used balljoints out of my new axle (going to build it with 4.10s, aussie, RS cover, WJ brakes/steering, etc :D) into it for the next day of wheeling and the drive home.

Sunday went wheeling and it abruptly overheated, quickly (like a minute or two while I was trying various tricks to cool it down) overheated past the end of the gauge, opened the hood and saw the upper rad hose bloated to twice its normal diameter and creaking ominously, closed the hood and got away from it literally seconds before it blew up and barfed boiling hot steam and coolant everywhere. That would have hurt if I hadn't moved. Fixed it and drove it home...

Can't wait to find out what's going to blow up tomorrow.

got absolutely nothing done this weekend, seems to be a growing trend of mine.
