Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Went to a cookout/shootout in Batesburg-Leesville with the Mid-Carolina Jeep club.

Decided to change the oil in my car tonight while I was at work and had access to tools, and a warehouse in case it started raining. Thanks to this it turned into a 2 hour job...

Had to wait for a very generous friend to come from about 45 minutes away to bring me a $10 cap.

When I half ass something, it ALWAYS ends up going as wrong as it possibly can in the end. Best bet was to wait for a new cap.

My luck the rag would have found its way inside the engine...

Hey if that's the only thing that goes wrong with it for quite some time, i'll gladly throw a $10 cap at it.

29K on a 5 year old car that gets well over 30mpg with the air on and is pretty fun to drive...i'll be keeping it for a while.

Finally re-did my flares and trim after letting the forever black stuff sit on my desk for a few months.

It's from a few weeks ago, it turned out really well. I took everything off, and put everything back on, since it was all falling off anyway, I had to cut the bolts off of the fender brackets and epoxy some new ones in there, incredibly time consuming and painstaking, but worth it, it looks like a brand new Jeep!

I wish I had better pictures of how it turned out. I only sorta have one, and I was making my dog pose for the camera lol.

Got a new cat back exhaust installed on the wife's DD plus I finally got the low idle issue fixed on it. Runs and drives like almost new.

What fixed the idle?

Adjustment screw on the TB. It adjusts the throttle butterfly. I had no idea it had one but it does. I pulled the TB off again and took a 2.5 MM allen wrench and turned it one revolution and put the TB back on and voila. Can you say DOH!!!!!!

Apparently over the years and mileage it had wore a little groove in the throttle lever and it allowed the butterfly to close too much. Who knew??

getting the jeeps ready... dan and his girl are coming down for the weekend. gonna hit some wheelin sat on dans new 35s.
