Weekend is over...what did you get done?

so what did Anita break? Gotta hear this

High centered in the lower rock garden. Busted a johnny joint loose, turned the TnT crossmember u-shaped, and showed some loving on both driveshafts.

What Nick said. I fixed the johnny joint at camp but the crosmember will need to be taken off and put in a press to try and flatten it back out. I need some heavy driveshafts too. I have nice gouge marks in both the front and rear. I also found some dents in the tranny pan from the crosmember hitting it. Oh well.....

Ok, so Little G and Little B and I got the jeep off and the three axles off. We used the suck down winch to hold the TB bracket close to the frame and was able to steer somewhat. LOL!

Did you End up with Jackie's tailgate?

Yes. I have it. It was there and I had no idea who it was for. So I grabbed it. We will find a ride for it somehow to Mark.

Cool Thanks Glenn. I couldn't find Mark and was wanting to go. I was hoping he'd see it before it got loaded up. Just keep it away from your jeep or it'll start looking like it! :D

Had an exhausting, hot, but productive weekend.

Got my old stock Dana 30 pulled out, installed my new to me Dana 30 with 4.56gears, aussie locker, new unit bearings, and new brakes installed.

Removed and replaced my steering gear box, no more sawing the wheel back and forth down the interstate to keep the Jeep straight.

Removed my oldstock C8.25 rear axle, installed my new to me C8.25 29 spline, lockrite locker, 4.56 gears, liberty disc brake rear axle.

Installed my HD shackle re-location brackets and some new slightly longer shackles.

Gained about 2 inches of lift in the rear with that, so I added 2 inch spacers up front to compensate. Jeep rides like a whole new vehicle now!

Finally, hooked up my dual Klein train horns. 150 decibels of CO2 powered awesomeness. Cant wait till I need it with these idiot ATL drivers.

Yeah... itll be epic. Its stupid loud. In fact, I scared the crap out of myself today. I forgot I have my remote start/keyless entry wired up to blow the horn when locking and unlocking the Jeep. I drove to home depot today in it, jumped out, hit the lock button and almost hit the deck when it blasted.

Which TnT crossmember did you have?? Long arms too? or just their crossmember? Pics?? I'm curious, because that is the direction I want to go, and this would be the first carnage I've heard of.....

Well when you are sitting on the crossmember with all 4 tires in the air I don't care who made it.... It is going to bend. :D Any and all will bend at some point.

I have the long arms. Glenn's right, the way it was on that rock, it wouldn't have mattered who's it was. I'll try and get a picture or two of it tomorrow. I'm hoping a press can straighten it some though.

Well sounds like everyone had a great time! That's great. I'm going in 2012 that's all there is to it! I hope everyone is safe...enjoy your recovery time!!

I went and picked up my Libby from the shop today after a year and a half of waiting. I put 87 miles on the new engine. She runs like a top. Also went and picked up my new kayak. One for each foot.
