yeah, came out real easy. its all good about sunday. your tools are back at the store. dropped em off on tuesday.

Agreed. If I spin the ACOS up about 1.5 inches then get a taller, softer spring rate coil, that might work but I think I will still need to use limit straps. I don't want the shock to be the limiting factor and since we see what happens when they are, I will need some straps.

I measured 17" from axle coil bucket to the ACOS for the ride height. If I get another 1.5 inches from spinning up the ACOS, that gives me an 18.5" coil length at ride height. If I have 4" on the ACOS before the spring hits the rubber bump stop, that's a total of 22.5" not counting the distance the coil will un-compress when flexing..........

All of a sudden, this got complicated!!!:looney:

Mark, this may help you out:

Thanks Greg. I read the Pirate threads but I still don't get how to come up with what spring I need. I'm gonna call Coil Spring Specialties and see what I can find out.

From the measurements I have, I need a coil that is 24" tall unloaded and loaded 18.5" tall and that will compress to 13.5" tall but I don't even know if that's possible or not.

mark what you need is a lighter rate longer spring.... rustys springs are 150 lb springs, some of the lightest rates on the market. that means when they sit down loaded the winds will sit closer and give you way more travel before they completely unload... the rustys 4.5's on dans willys are my old set and i was really happy with them because of the light rate. a rustys 4.5 with your acos turned way down or a rustys 6.5 with the acos way up might be the ticket, however im not sure how close the winds are on the 6.5's i know however that the 4.5's are a 22" unloaded length

i finally got some tube. got 80 feet to see were that gets me. get more if i make any mistakes that cant be used of fixed. gettin excited about the cage.
