well just let me know if you want to do that. i'm just trying to save you some money ;) it should be the only jeep clutch on there. they're all the same part number with a 4.0 anyway, although it might be listed as for a 97 wrangler, or for an 87 xj, or a 97 xj. i'm not sure, but they're all the same.:cheers:

Cranked out 210 parts on one of my machines, now waiting on the other one. Tomorrow i'm changing my brake lines, working on the camper and getting my hair cut! :D

Wired in the Innovate XM-16 wideband 02 sensor, and found out my original 02 sensor wasn't plugged into jack. Also found out that whatever it IS supposed to plug into is missing. The downstream 02 is hooked up though. I'm guessing it's stuck somewhere up above the transmission from the 2wd-4wd conversion I did a while back.

That explains my 10MPG regardless of city/highway driving. I could always smell fuel outside the tailpipe. I thought because it was stroked with 4.6 liters of raw power it just needed to be tuned. Turns out the beast has been using the open-loop/multiple choice answering method to tune the fuel curve. And I thought 33x12.50's with a 6.5 inch lift was my problem.
Tsk Tsk.
But anyways, when I convert to 4.5" with 31x10.50 and I have my wideband 02 hooked up and my SAFC-II altering the fuel curve I'll probably be back to, or maybe even better than, 20 MPGs with my 4.6 torque tyrant.

I also wired in the MSD 6AL and MSD High Vibration ignition today as well.

And used 3 rolls of electrical tape to tape all of it OCD style. After I get everything going good I'm going to buy 10 more rolls of E-tape and OCD the rest of everything else with a wire... just cause. Does anyone else ever have the urge to do this?

So after I got the head back on from getting a 3 angle valve job with new valves and seats/guides.... it cranked up with all of my electrical wiring being a success.

However... that's when I found out I had a dead lifter. I just pulled the head off and inspected further. Turns out that lobe on the cam is wiped out as well. Lesson learned: ALWAYS inspect the bottom of your lifters when you have them out. So I'll be putting in new lifters and cam after I get them on Wednesday.

I'm reverting back to a stock cam for stronger low-end torque and better gas mileage.
 
I know a lot of people are OCD about running wiring in wiring looms. Sounds like you've just about worked out all the kinks.
 
Wire loom is that plastic covering that is premade in different sizes for your wires. I used some of that.

Even then I wrapped the crap out of the wires first then put it on over that. The closer to the engine heat, the more I wrap.

Something to consider with wiring/electrical is that the hotter something is, the more conductive it is. When a vehicle is brand new all the electrical taping resists heat best. As a vehicle gets older the tape will thin out, get oil/coolant on it degrading it, and become weathered. That reduces its ability to resist heat.

At that point, the wires will become more susceptible to heat. Heat makes things more conductive, altering its electrical readings from stock status. It won't be a ginormous amount, but it will be altered none-the-less.

After I get this thing running again I'm going to buy another 10 rolls and finish what I have started with the rest of the wiring everywhere else.
 
Got our new family car friday a 2005 Impala, got my tatt almost finished yesterday only 1 more session to go, and hoping to get out and back on the jeep today since the weathers starting to cooperate again.
 
Seafoamed a surprising amount of crap out of the Outback's intake. Runs great now, but there's still some accelerator pedal hesitation that I can't quite figure out - from what I can tell it's a drive-by-wire throttle, and I suspect that the actuator for the throttle plate is still gummed up.

Started in on the Brat's coolant leak; need to have a metal pipe made to replace a rubber hose that a previous owner put right over the EGR valve. Go figure; the hose melts over time.

Decided that the XJ is getting Currie's Currectlync steering in the next few weeks rather than replacing the shot stock items in there now. Just need to get the cash together for it. Time to take it for desalination over at the pressure wash.
 
Tried to get the sway bar mounts out of the axle...no luck. Did reassemble the intake and everything and the jeep idles like it should and runs good. Need to find the hardware for the front d/s and then swap to the mud tires. And I should get it registered here so I can take that God forsaken FL tag off it.

Mine got desalinized last week. 2.5 months of it baking on there really did a number on it. I've never let it go that long with salt on it before but between the snow/ice events on a weekly basis and me being gone for a week for work it just never got done.

Drove up to Greensboro yesterday to visit with some family that was in town from the DC area. Spent last night working on mom's Jeep. Got it running better (30K plugs that had been in for 76K...woops!) and gave it the once over since it's fresh over 100K now. Discovered the valve cover gaskets are leaking (not going to be a fun job) and it appears the tstat housing (which is on the bottom of the engine on the 3.7..rather bizarre) appears to be leaking (stupid plastic POS!). Need to get around to the front pinion seal on that thing as well. All are projects for another time.

Spent today desalinizing mom's Jeep and the Tundra along with finally rotating my tires.
 
My dad has a 3.7 in the Jeep Commander ended up having a cracked head. That and the oil fliter placement (which is assinine because on every Mopar I've seen is in the passenger rear area) doesn't have me terribly impressed with those motors. Could be me but I dunno.
