Weekend is over...what did you get done?

if you're gonna ride two up or take 1000 mile trips, I can understand wanting bigger. This one was just a to and from work toy that's been replaced by a Jeep lately.

I like the forward controls. I really like the look of a bike with Drag bars. I like the flat, low and long look.

I like this... ya gotta click the picture.

I currently have a Honda Shadow 750cc. I want something bigger and more powerful. I can't keep up with all the 1200cc and 1400cc Harley's I ride with.

Well I got the front end all put together with my new bling. Also mounted a permanent antenna for the cb and tied up all the loose wiring inside and under the chassis... Jeep looks super good and clean, I'm actually going to try and keep it real clean until after the flog, then comes rocker replacement part two and hybrid cage.... I've got some plans to make it run even better as well..... It's good to see the old beat up waggy get a new lease on life, it has been my favorite heep of everyone ive had

pic. didn't work

got a Honda V65 Magna sitting in the stable too-- you wanna talk about something that'll "keep up" with any street bike out there!

I've never enjoyed the drag bar bikes (I'm gettin' old and hate leaning forward), but they do make for a quicker steering scoot.

I'm enjoying the Kawi I started riding on more than any of the others lately. She's just a li'l KZ650SR, but because she's just a SJM, she's the sleeper from hell. 11,000rpm redline, twin disk front with single disk rear, and a ZX10 rear swing arm. Tons of fun without catching anyone's eye!!

Good! Glad to hear that! I can't wait until Saturday!

me too! its been far to long since the last dirt therapy session..... and now i can hit the rocks with a little bit more confidence ;)

PFT! I have not been since the Crawl. My life so sucks right now! :tears:

Wheeled trail 21 @Redbird SRA for our trail cleanup. Dented up my passenger rear door but no major damage for me.

I think I found a line on a waggy 44 ready to be bolted in. Just gotta put a tracbar bracket on it, adjust the length of my tracbar and steering. Woot!

Locked, geared correctly and everything.

wheeled.... crumpled the gas tank, broke the pump pickup off and tore a valve stem, all in a span of about 10 feet

I hope not the "first" 10 feet.

just got home from shrek's he's letting me utilize his garage a bit when i need.

i've got two racks all ready to weld together aside from some issues finding an efficient way to notch the upright supports.

i think i've got an idea on that though.

and i also hit my fumb wit a hammer...

and the battery in my jeep is shot...i stole shrek's jump box though so ibaight

and i've got about 25 PMD heat sinks for 6.5 GM diesel pickups if anyone has one.

i need to find a template and get the drilled and tapped so the pmd will bolt up. then devise a bracket.

I coached some football yesterday, we won! Moving on into the play-offs. I spent today washing the Jeeps and then put the hard top back on the JK. Its starting to get cold here in the Blue Ridge. The mountains are in full color right now, awesome sight!

Didn't see a mention of any broken u joints or axle shafts, guess the new bling helped.

did that a couple weekends ago working on lobsterdmb's shed... yeah... I came up with some pretty interesting combinations of 4 letter words.

Fortunately the nail doesn't seem to be coming off, the black patch is slowly moving down toward the end of my thumb and it doesn't seem to be peeling up.

Headed to Boone Thursday night to look at my buddy's Blazer after it developed a loud clunking. Determined that the problem is internal to the rear differential, and out of our hands to fix due to lack of proper tools and space to work in. Decided to hang out up there for a couple of days. Wound up packing up some gear and going camping at a place called Table Rock in the Pisgah National Forest on Friday night. Wasn't too cold at all and the views from the campsite in the morning were beautiful:

Got up this morning and headed down to Cullowhee from Boone to meet up with Nick as he had a day off from his EMT course he's been working on all month. The plan was to check out some trails around Mose's Creek, but we arrived at the trail head to find that they had been blocked off by the Rangers, and from the looks of it, for quite some time. We decided to continue up the forest road we were on to see where it stopped. Little did we know just how long it really was! After about 6 or so miles and about an hour driving straight up the mountain, we reached the top (well, as far as we could go before we were stopped by a locked gate). Pulled off at the parking area by the gate and posed for a picture before walking up the rest of the road:

Once reaching the top by foot, we discovered a very nice place for a future camping trip, that allows for these views:

On the way back down we decided to stop and grab a couple more pictures:

Me: "Hey Nick, that'd make for a cool picture if you drove up the top of this little hill"

Nick: "Yeah it would!"

Nick and I collectively: "Oh sh**!"

Nick: "Hey, there's a hole right here...just in case you were wondering!"

All in all a great weekend i'd say!

Pulled and replaced my pitman arm. Old steering with 6.5" lift required a pretty long drop. The Rock Krawler steering would not turn left with the left side fully compressed.
Now it's good again. Hopefully getting around to alloy shafts and new unit bearings for the front this week.

fixed a few of the wiring issues in my xj, :repair:worked on a friend's 97 hyundai sonata(what a colossal pile of monkey crap that thing is) had to call wingnut to come work his mystical locksmith JUJU when the doors automatically locked with the keys in the ignition and the car running.:explosion - then once we got back in i fixed the brake lights, air conditioner, speedometer/odometer, and unclogged the wiper squirt motor.
still waiting to get paid, though... whenever that money comes along i'll go buy a clutch master cylinder and get my xj back on/off the road.
hung out with middtennjeeperz while they combined 2 crummy steering columns to come up with one good one for a yj, and changed out the tailshaft seal in its t-case.

My dad is doing much better now. he's awake and eating solid food and able to talk, and still jokes around the same way he used to, but it often feels like he thinks it's still 1984 or so, and talks about people who have died like they came to visit him yesterday. his brain still has a lot of healing to do, and he's supposed to start physical therapy to regain some manual dexterity and be able to walk again soon. it still looks like he has a long road ahead of him, but at least we're not planning a funeral! he has been moved back to jackson from vanderbilt, but will make several return trips to get checked out by the surgeons and other doctors who worked on him to see how his progress is going.

It makes me smile to hear about your dad's recovery progress. Usually we aren't so blessed with a recovery such as this one. Progress may be slow, but like you said, progress is progress none the less, and it is way better than planning a funeral.
