Weekend is over...what did you get done?

whats wrong with LP? works for me :)

There's nothing wrong with them. I run one, but just like any other axle, the HP version is stronger in the front than a LP version. But if they are built right they are just fine. Im gonna stay LP until I brake a Ring and Pinion, the Im gonna fix it with a cryoed gear set, and if that brakes, I'll swap in a HP center section and run that!

yeh, I need to address my JCR tie in brackets...my holes were way off. I've stopped getting replies from them on email, so I'll have to improvise...:scared:

Call them tomorrow. I have never had an issue with them answering the phone.

what companies do the cryo?

Torn ACL, Torn MCL, Both Meniscus Torn, And some good ol' bone bruising.

yeh, you'll be down for a little while with all that...all in the same knee, correct:cheers: I'm thinking surg early next year...:twak:

Yeh, phone is a little challenging for me...spend most of my day in a car...and way behind on my doc calls too! Although I could make that one while driving....

Picked up my Waggy D44 axle this weekend when I took Jack up to the Grandparents this weekend. He was a hit for sure.

Axle needs to be cleaned up and rebuilt. Now to decide what brackets, gears and locker to put in it.

if i do a waggy axle in my xj, i've thought of just doing leafs with a springover setup. i figured that would save some time and effort, but i've also thought of just cutting off the spring buckets for the 30, and welding those and some beefier tabs on for the control arms. i'm a firm believer that you don't have to spend a ton of money for name-brand stuff in order to have a tough rig.

What is amazing is the difference in the way they wheel. I've seen both the bumble bee and his current Waggy run and the difference is night and day. The axles are the same but the Waggy has coils in front and does so much better.

Just got back from dropping my 8.8 at TrailRate's place. One more run to the PAP for some random parts and I'll be ready for a wrenchfest at my place!

I'd love to get those 4.10s in place before the Flog!

swapped in a different gauge cluster(big thanks to cottontail), but my voltmeter still reads right between 8-10 volts, but still starts up just fine every time. also, i found a brand new cherry bomb glasspack on the side of the road the other day, so i got that and new piping from the cat- back welded on today. jeep's still got a pretty bad leak right at the manifold on the head, but definitely sounds better. i'll tackle the intake/exhaust manifold gasket sometime this week probably...
also, i might have tripped over a good deal on some used tires, so the only thing keeping my jeep stock after this weekend will be the tracbar. i don't want to even try to lift a jeep that old with the stock tracbar, so i'll just be patient, and think about death wobble.

Most XJ volt meters are about as honest as politicians, just check it running fully loaded ( everything electrical turned on ) with a volt meter. 14 to 14.4 is what you are looking for. Make that location on the gauge the 'new' range, regardless of what number the needle points to.

^thanks! i'll give that a shot in a few minutes. i swapped the whole gauge cluster, so i figured that would fix it, if it were a gauge issue. hell, i don't even care, really. as long as it starts and runs for now i'll keep driving it.

Not the weekend fellas, but it's been a really rough couple of days, with many more to follow. my dad was in a terrible car crash in Jackson, Tn Tuesday night, and was very seriously injured. he was helicopterred to vanderbilt in nashville, and has been on the 10th floor in the trauma intensive care unit since he got there. he still hasn't been conscious, and they have done several hours of emergency surgery to stop bleeding in his brain, reconstruct his face and skull, and reset the bones in his right leg and left arm. he has more surgery coming over the next few days, and is still somewhat stable. he is starting to move around a bit, and the doctors are starting to get an idea that he will get better over time. they have told us that he won't ever be the same, and that he won't be going home for several months. please pray for my dad and our family, and that the doctors are able to do what it takes to keep him alive. i think he'll eventually be ok, but it's a long road ahead for ol' pops.
