Weekend is over...what did you get done?

yeah it's pretty funny to see the constant turnover :roflmao: reminds me of a few of my friends up here.

At least you are still here to say "wrecked my motorcycle"...

ok, so far on the new piglet i've:
'fixed' the vacuum deal on the front axle so i have 4x4 everytime i need it.
replaced tailgate shocks with some i had layin around
bled the clutch so it will actually disengage
replaced some broke interior plastic pieces with some i found on another xj IDENTICAL to mine that i found at pullapart, might be snarfin some more pieces offa that bad boy
and tricked wingnut into installing/removing/fixing/reinstalling my ignition lock cylinder for me so's i don't gotsta start the little fellar with needlenose pliers anymore. more stuff to do, not much time this week. this piggy will come along slowly, but by this time next year will be a decent trailmobile.

Not the weekend but getting a jump on it for this Sunday.

Well a crappy week looks to be ending on a decent note...got tracking numbers tonight for my treadwrights. Should have them Tuesday or Wednesday of next week!

Well, Betty is coming along nicely still. I have about 95% of the wiring done, pretty much all that is left is hooking up the 2 fuel pump wires and then making and installing the switch panel. All of the switches will be in an ammo box between the seats. Before they were on the dash and I couldn't reach them with my harnesses on. So this will fix that issue. Once the wiring is done, I can install the seats permenantly and then figure out how to mount the seatbelts. Then I need to finish the plumbing. The fuel system is done but I need to finish the brakes and the power steering.

My new detroits came in this week, and all I can say is WOW! The 33 spline rear is quite a bit bigger than the 30 spline front. More of a difference than I expected. RCVs should be here towards the end of next week, and I can pick up the rear shafts on Tuesday. They were supposed to be done yesterday, but I went by today to get them and they had started them but were not finished. Figures... That's Hudlow Axle for you.

So by next weekend she should be running and driving again! I can't wait!

Spent the last 2 days working on 3.8 Grand Prix! I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong with it! As long as you've got your foot on the throttle it will run. If you let off it will idle for a while then cut off. If you have it idleing and barely touch the gas to accelerate it cuts off. If you put it in gear it cuts off. If you stomp the gas in neutral it revs but stumbles but as soon as you let off the gas it dies.

I've replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, crank position sensor, and unplugged the MAF to eliminate it. It's driving me crazy!

TPS?

I was thinking vac leak but I don't see any obvious leaks.

Did you add more pics to your pirate thread?

No, not yet. There's a lot of tools on sitting on it right now, so once I finish the wiring and get it cleaned up some I will take some pictures and post them up.

this sounds stupid, but try the coolant temp sensor. many times gm's will run so rich that they shut off at low rpm's when it goes out, b/c it's telling the computer that the engine is running super super cold. check the exhaust to see if it's dumping fuel-also check the oil to see if it smells like gas.

Yeah, It's running really rich. That's why I thought the MAF may be the problem. I'll check the temp sensor tomorrow.

Bought a Waggy Dana 44 today. Picking it up tomorrow at my Grandparents house.

And I'm gonna put it in my Jeep!!!!

Well maybe not, but at least I can help put it in Ed's.

Say boo all you want but Doug's Waggy kicks butt and I won't be running anywhere near 37" tall tires so i should be good. Besides i can always resell it if I change my mind.
