Weekend is over...what did you get done?

wow... the sights of home! god I hate rust.

fortunately the new rig only really has cosmetic rust, though it takes a hell of a lot more to do anything except cause cosmetic rust on 1/8" through 3/4" plate. I think I could lose an XJ worth of metal to rust and still haul stuff around just fine.

Got this in the mail today, thanks alot everyone, thats the quarterly raffle prize, good stuff

Got the mower engine removed and did a bunch of crap around the house. I broke the flywheel bolt on the motor not too long ago, but going to dinner in a while so now it's sitting on the deck.

Will I need to pound off the flywheel? Next up is breaking the seal between the block and head.

Not the weekend, but I just got finished building my rear winch bumper.

You go Boy! That looks pretty good. What kinda leaves you got holding all that weight up??

Thanks Andy! I am not sure who makes them, but they came with my Claytons lift kit. They are a pretty stout pack, and I will likely have to remove a leaf or two when I install the relocation brackets to keep the Jeep level. The bumper isnt all that heavy. I installed it pretty easily by myself. If I had to guess, maybe 100-120 pounds with everything installed?

Oh wow... wanna make another and give me the homeboy hookup? :D That looks amazing.

Thanks man... I am making a similar for a friend with a Ranger right now. After that is done I have more plans for mine. :) Id be glad to help though if you want to build one.

I have no fab experience, currently have a reciever mount winch plate for my warn 9k

Really like the look of yours, if you ever decide to make another one for a XJ give me a holler, I am going to sign up for a welding course next semester, so maybe in a year or so Ill have the know how to make one of my own properly.

Ah, you don't need any experience. Go pick you up a Lincoln 180, find you some steel and start welding stuff together. If you can read a tape measure and you've got some common sense you don't need a class. I took a welding class and it didn't teach me anything I hadn't already picked up for myself. A 101 welding class only covers using a cutting torch, fusion welding, braising and arc welding. I never even got to pick up a mig or tig. It was quite frustrating... Save your money. Unless you just want a cool elective...

Why wouldnt you take her car to begin with?

because her car SUCKS! lol.... not really sure why i took the waggy, other than her car needs new tires, and i have brand new ones on the waggy.
for what i spent in gas though, i coulda bought her some tires and enough gas for the trip, but at least now i know that my jeep will make the trip successfully:D
i'm now looking for a cummins 4bt for a swap, if anybody knows of one in good shape for less than a grand, let me know. i've found a couple on ebay, but i'm just kinda trolling right now.:pirate1:

did some more work on the VW's exhaust and when i went to take my big jeep, found the drivers side leaf spring center pin is busted and it all fell to pieces. so i need to rebuild my leaf packs. yay.

Removed the rusted/rotted factory KC fog lights from my red Jeep, and installed a couple Hella 550 fogs in place, looks much better, and they actually work... Re-installed the hitch on that Jeep since I finished my rear bumper on the Teal Bitch and dont need the bolt on hitch any more. Also swapped rear stock bumpers from the teal bitch to the red jeep, since I bent the heck out of the red jeep bumper the other day. Tightened the damn squealing belt on the red Jeep as well...

It also just turned 200K miles today! Wish my wife would find a car so I can get back in that for a DD. Got some major projects lined up for the Teal Bitch, and need to park it for a few weeks.

It was a red jeep day.

My ZJ turned 199980 today...

Guess I need to make a 20 mile trip tomorrow!!!

Oh, also, got my HP D30 with the 4.10s powerwashed and cleaned yesterday and primered and painted today.

Next step...send it out to get the ball joints pressed out and new ones pressed in and go by the PnP yard to pull an 8.8 and ZJ V8 tie rod.

Getting closer. Planning to do a double axle swap wenchfest in early to mid October!

My XJ hit 100k a couple weeks ago. You're going the same route as me. I have an HP D30 w/ 4.10's and a lockright(gotta change the ball joints too!) sitting on jackstands in the garage and an 8.8 w/ 4.10's and a detroit ready to bolt up. Its still laying in the back of my Jeep! :D

You guys gotta stop copying me :spin1: that's been my plan since christmas, if I hadn't gotten a piece of metal in my eye working on the 30 on new years eve it'd be done already!

Went to a wheeling event yesterday, was gonna wheel the massivemobile but blew the head gasket even worse about 15 miles from my destination. Parked it at the local FD and begged the NAXJA president to pick me up and drag my ass the rest of the way to his place, hung out with the crew for a while then rode back to my place with someone who was going right by on their way home.

Heading back up to get my toolbag so I can do a trans swap on the 96 shortly.

i worked all weekend. wanted to get to URE so bad.
i did get my axles pulled from the 77f150. so now its time to use the over time $$$ i'm not a big "baller" money maker. but i did put in 58-59 hours monday thru sat. its sunday and i'm at work now, so maybe this week i'll put im more(my pay week starts on sunday)

Mom and I went in together and bought a 96 Cobra Convertible yesterday. Guy gotta go get it tomorrow morning. It has a few things done to it, but it is in really good shape and drives great too. Needs a few small things here and there but it will be good as new after I can work on it for a few days.
