Ohhhhh, JCR goodies, I have some of those.........OK, a lot of those! :D

Weekend isn't over so Tomorrow I am throwing my Sub in the Jeep. Need some more thump in the double bass!

well the weekend may not be over but my body thinks its is.... the last six days have been like a weekend and now its time for some sleep

I got Jackies MJ running.....but it sounds like a handful of nuts and bolts are hanging out in the crankcase.

^they prolly are :D my last 4.0 had about 1/2 pound of random metal in the oilpan. ask watrousmark;)
well, i found out that my right rear wheel cylinder is leakin like crazy, so tomorrow i'm iguana replace that and fix my transmission leak, i hope.
there were 2 different wheel cylinders for the 1990 grand waggy: one is $8.49, and the other is $49.99!:scared:
i bought the cheap one, and i hope it fits! if not, i'm screwed! i wouldn't be surprised if mine takes the expensive one, though, what with the factory tow package and all, it prolly has bigger brakes.

I had to put rear brakes on the wife's 2000. It had a bad wheel cylinder also. $9.00 bucks each so I replaced both sides plus some new shoes.

The hard lines on the axle were siezed to the fitting. I got the fitting out of the cylinder but not without twisting the line. Thank goodness for "spare" parts. Ed had an 8.25 lying around so he pulled the hard lines from it and I was back to rolling, well stopping.

I also found out that the A/C clutch is bad on it. I don't think those are replaceable. That means a new compressor, even though the one on it is not locked up. Can the clutch be swapped???

I worked at O'reilly's for almost 2 years. I sold many compressor clutchs... Almost everyone brought them back and got the compressor assy.

It CAN be done but I'd just suggest finding a new compressor.

Well I didn't get my sub installed today. My speaker box is in my cousins big garage. I am at her house watching her dogs but she took the key with her and the breaker to the keypad is turned off. My cousin(her brother) must be on one of his random crime sprees. .:dunno: did manage to get a pair of roof bars put on my jeep and got the D30, leaf springs and shocks out of the back of the jeep and cleared out my garage. So my one day off this week wasn't a waste!

I didn't get a damn thing done today... So my one day off was not spent on the Jeep. :-/

On a side note, I love me some 5FDP. Saw them in concert in Columbia a while back.

Note to self: Do make sure you install the metal spacers on the new grommets, otherwise a $30 valve cover gasket job will turn into a $60 valve cover gasket job as you CANNOT purchase the grommets separately. :banghead: Thanks to Nick for the assistance and for driving to Egypt and back in search of grommets.

+1 on buying the whole assembly, once the clutch goes a bunch of crap ends up in the system and kills the compressor in short order. INthe long run it's cheaper to swap the whole assembly and it sits right there on top anyway.

Umm... the clutch is on the outside of the compressor. It could self destruct and implode into oblivion and it doesn't mean there is anything inside the system. The reason people end up buying the whole compressor is because it takes special tools to remove the clutch without damaging the compressor, and when putting it back on, you have to keep checking it with a feeler gauge to make sure you have just enough clearance for it to spin feeling while unlocked but lock down solid and not slip when it is engaged. That, and also the fact that a lot of times the whole compressor can be had for just a little more money but requires less work.

Call me paranoid but I *never* reuse brake lines... if I take em off, I make new ones to fit. Easy after a bit of practice.

Got the new exhaust onto the MJ... well, almost all of it

Some tard at rockauto mailed me a muffler with an inlet OD matching the outlet OD of the cat, i.e. it will no-way no-how slide over the cat. So it's real loud and has no guts right now because just a cat does not produce enough backpressure to make a 4.0 happy. Waiting on a new muffler that will hopefully fit...

Drove the massivemobile to Weare and back, not a single cop hassled me or even really looked twice... I think the camo is keeping them from seeing me :anon: not sure how they don't hear the straight pipe though.

Exactly!

It also takes special tools, well a vacuum pump anyway, to reinstall a compressor after breaking the system to recharge it. Either way, looks like it will have to wait. I don't have the money for a new one and even a used one will still cost quite a bit to get a vacuum pulled and it charged. I was hoping to be able to replace the clutch easily, but that's not gonna happen. Looks like I can still run the 4-55 system though.:D

Yeah, but with the small windows on these things 4-55 SUCKS! Now, taking the doors off is a different story. :)
