Weekend is over...what did you get done?

got my waggy back, then blew it up on the way home, then got it towed back to the shop, then went to the m&G. showed alpha some cornhole skillz(beanbags, not prison fun), went to jackson for a stressful easter weekend where i had to deal with both my wife's family and my own, and figure out how to see everybody in one day without pissing anybody off. then came back, sat in my father in law's hot tub hoping for my back to get better, then went home and went to bed.

i'm wondering how long i should wait before i call the guy with the waggy and see what the deal is?? would it be rude to call today or tomorrow and see when it'll be done? after what happened, i'm afraid to rush him for fear of it blowing up yet again!

yeah, i was thinking that. i'm currently stranded without a car because of all this. the wife needs her car and i need mine. this is a total pain in the balls.
on a lighter note, Pac-Ed loaned me a computer for my XJ! i'm gonna try to get grandpa running one more time tomorrow, and maybe at least then i'll have something to get me around! Thanks a lot, Ed for bringing that to me! if it fixes my problem, which i'm about 75% sure it will, i'll pay you for the thing as soon as i get home with my jeep! i'm gonna try that, a new o2 sensor(under warranty), and i never put coolant in it, so i'll try that, just incase the coolant temp sensor has something to do with running ultra rich.

yeah, i was thinking about something similar to a full metal jacket style blanket party... it's getting really old having to deal with either being stranded, or if i'm lucky i get to drive a pink toyota corolla. i'm gonna try to get this dealt with soon. right now, i don't have a phone, though, so i'll hafta try to call after 4 when my wife gets home.
it's really stressful to get used to always having a car and a cellphone, then both disappear in the same weekend.

i can do that.... on thursday. i have school all day today, i'm gonna spend tomorrow fixing my xj, and i'm back in school wednesday till 5pm, then i hafta go put brakes on my father in law's truck and his best friend's truck in nashville. these brake jobs will hopefully pay for some parts for my xj, and a mechanical oil pressure guage for the waggy, so i'll know if i'm in good shape or not if/when he gets around to fixing the screw up.

When you say it blew up, what happened? No rods through the block or anything I hope.

no, it jumped time and shut off, because the distibutor gear and the drive gear on the cam that turns it got chewed up. also, one of the lifters was ticking pretty bad right before that happened.

Don't wanna rush him? He had your jeep for 6 months and it still wasn't done right.

Ed knows where his shop is....
i figgered i was making things better my more or less swapping them myself, except the big stuff like lining up the motor mounts and the bellhousing. i don't know, but i'm not helping him fix this problem, and i won't be going back to him once i finally do get it right. as has been said before, i should have let tyler take it to chattanooga. it wouldn't have been that much more, and i would have gotten it back in january, and it would be clean and right.

summer's here!!!
and the DD has been inspected and running like a top-- now I can get to work on the big white turd....

sweet! i've been looking at a 4cyl 5spd 2wd 2door meself! i think i could get it for next to nothing, and it belonged to a close friend since new, so i know it's in good shape. he wrecked it a few years ago, so it would need a new condensor for the a/c to work, but overall, it's a good little ride. a little slow out of the hole, but gets great mileage!
