Weekend is over...what did you get done?

What was it causing the low idle?

It was actually high idle ... high as in, roughtly 11,000RPM. Turns out the throttle plate was adjusted too far open but just by a few millimeters. Boy, what a difference it made.

I still have to readjust the TPS according to the new throttle plate setting. It idles about 1200RPM in park and about 800 RPM in drive. I think after the re-calibration, it should return to normal.

tylers been busy.. keeps him from working on the willys but then again.. its funding it as well. a good bad weekend?

Installed 9/16ths bolts on my lower control arms and 7/16th on the uppers. Got rid of the rattle caused by the slop between the bushings and the bolts.

11,000 eh? That's impressive! lol.

I'm trying to figure out why mine WON'T idle. Lately in cool/cold weather it's not wanting to idle much at all for the first 5-10 seconds after I start it. It will stumble and try to stall, but not completely stall out. Giving it gas helps a little, but it chugs indicating a misfire. After that 5-10 seconds it clears up and all is well.

TPS is less than 1 year old, and IAC was cleaned when I replaced the TPS. I know it needs a tune up and I hope to do that this Friday after I work on another Jeep. Any suggestions anyone?

Speaking of idle issues... Ryan (ChattTacoma05) now has an XJ that idles correctly. His was a bad IAC motor. It now idles at 750-800 RPM instead of 1200. It should pass emissions now. But we'll see. Everybody keep their fingers crossed.

Re-did my headlight harness and installed some Autopal 90/100W bulbs in my IPF housings today after work. Also started on a high idle switch.

Failed a test in Instrumentation and Controls this morning...ordered an Iron Rock Offroad track bar and had complete electrical failure in the Jeep.

What a day....

Neat and orderly wiring is particularly sexy.

My MJ sprung a coolant leak on the way home from work today. It was leaking oh so barely from the bottom of the t-stat housing. Apparently I didn't tighten the lower bolt enough or something.

my mj sprung more oil leaks... changed the pan gasket and found out why there was so much rtv on the front, all the bolt holes were stripped out and wouldnt tighten all the way

Replaced tin can d44 diff with a f100 d44 thats 4x thickness. and adjusted draglink / steering.
Tomorrow i m installing cb and figuring out a way of hard wiring the windshield washer .. I still have to install new motor mounts..

Picked up a total of 600 ft of tube yesterday!!! Lol, 260 ft of 1 1/2 for Brents cage, 140 ft of 1 1/2 for me, and 200 ft of 1 3/4 for me too. Looks like I'll get to start on the buggy soon!
