got some new jks quicker disconnects for 15 BUCKS!!! i got them at a repo sale and the guy had no idea wat they were so he said hed take 15 haha best deal ive heard in a while

Eh, you dont want tow hooks. What you really want is a New RSORF Bumper with D-ring tabs! :D

x2. I pulled once on one hook and bent the mount. Put the strap on both hooks and bent BOTH hooks. That's when I got serious about bumpers. Who ever's bumper you get, will work better than the hooks, as long as it's mounted well. My old ARB never had an issue with extraction, and the custom bumper on my current XJ is holding up well to yanks. Don't bother wasting money on hooks, unless you never intend on using them, and never have to use them....

went to jackson on my ninja and did some more renovation work on my grandparent's house and made some money to put into the xj while i'm doing the motor swap, which should be done on thursday. i'm gonna go to chapel hill tomorrow, and mate the new motor to the transmission, drain the pepto bismol out of the trans/tcase/tranny cooler, and get everything set to go in thursday morning, and i should get to drive it home!!!

Broke my harmonic balancer last Sunday and finally had some time off to repair it. Thanks to Jamescad letting me borrow his truck I was able to go to work. Anywho, well I fixed it Saturday and had to put a belt on it and rad, because the belt broke when it fell off when I was driving, and the radiator popped when it overheated after the belt fell off! So UNCC came to the rescue w/ the parts and we knocked it out in a day...but only a solid 5 hours of actual work probably.
Sunday Jamescad came over and we installed the resdt of the Radiator and installed some tow hooks that I picked up from Mr. UNCC.

The jeep w/ that new balancer has NEVER run this good hahaha.

Finally got someone to weld up my steering/trackbar links and OTA bracket. Got everything painted and ready to go back together today, come to find out the tube inserts got warped and the TRE's won't thread in. Having to borrow cars/rides for over 2 months while I try to get this done REALLY sucks!!! Oh and my compressor took a dump so no more impact gun or cutoff wheel. :flamemad: Sorry, this stuff is just getting soo old.

That is sweet!!! How...what console...nice, nice, nice!!

Console is from a 96 Country. I'll post up some more pictures/details in my build thread along with a few other updates.

Thanks to Gambit4000 i got a windshield wiper fill tank, bunch of wires and a switch to convert my non working ws wipers tank to a manual switch one.

Crawled into bed Wednesday afternoon with the flu and a fever of 104. Aside from a trip to the doc, didn't crawl back out until Monday morning..... Man, the weekend sucked.

I need to address my FUBAR'd TRE's.

I have the ones needed for the tie-rod. Do I need a right hand AND left hand thread TRE for the drag-link?

I've never done TREs before.

no. one end is built into the draglink. if you measure everything before and after, you might be able to avoid getting an alignment, too. if you wanna screw vato zone, you can use my warranty info to get a new draglink for the gratis:D
pm me?

Which end is built into the drag link; the pitman arm end?

Advance shows a TRE for the pitman arm end.
