Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Thanks! JCR's sale got me looking at getting one..then Chris reminded me he had one sitting in his garage he didn't want for his new Jeep, and made me a deal I couldn't turn down.

lol! So...you had the same leather seats I do about a week after I had mine in...should I expect to see a JCR on the front of yours by the end of next week? LOL!

No bc I'd bet a dime to a dollar he still has only one slider! :spin1:

Maybe in 5 months!

Dem fighting words!

I got nothing done this weekend (there's a surprise), I spent the day with the kids driving to/from Richmond (3hours one way) to watch our high school win back to back basketball state championships. Maybe next weekend.

Better shot of the bumper:

Gonna see about adding a hoop this week..perhaps some light brackets (still up in the air as to if I want to mount them on the bumper or off of the hoop). Once I get all that done I plan to sand it down and repaint it.

Spent yesterday with Joshooha replacing his harmonic balancer...pretty straight forward swap...too bad everything else in the day tried to go against us....now to figure out a way to get his new radiator to work....

And today at work, i'll be thinking of some ideas of what direction to go in with this little gem i'm picking up for my Dad this week:

new radiator (3 core all brass/copper)
new rad hoses
new heater hoses (X6)
new heater control valve
new fan clutch

all that and I forgot to install the new thermostat..... runs kinda cold for the next week or so..... (none in there right now)

just got finished assembling the hubs/rotors on the d44 put the new warn lockout hubs on and installed the aussie in the d44 carrier and put the 4.88 gear on it.... too bad tyler was out of town or i might have it under the jeep,

and if you were wondering... yes i know i will have to take the hubs off to get the axleshafts out to put the carrier back in but this way everything is got new grease and i know it goes together well. call it a "grease" run (instead of dry run tehehe) :D

Started fixing all the minor issues with the new xj
-repainted rusty rear bumper
-reinstalled stock radio
-fixed rear seat back

and researched tow hooks for about 2 hours. still cant decide which ones I want

I want to do a 1.6 TDI swap SOOO BAD...but dad want's to put a 22RE in. Atleast the 22RE is a good motor and pretty simple to work on. We're getting this one for $800. Guy wants the motor back (he'll come to pick it up too!!! ) and the tranny has a blown front seal. It was his DD until about 2-3 weeks ago when the seal went out. No big deal though, it'll be super easy to replace with no motor in it! lol. Dad should be meeting the guy to pay for it tomorrow and i'll be picking it up with my buddy's F250 and trailer come Friday....can't wait to tear into it!

Eh, you dont want tow hooks. What you really want is a New RSORF Bumper with D-ring tabs! :D

Haha

This weekend wasnt all that great for me. Friday I didn't get too much done, but did unload my trailer to get ready to go pick some stuff up. Saturday I went to Atlanta to get my new frame (which is why I unloaded my trailer) and went to 4 wheel parts to hang out with some naxja members. The 6 of us scored the club a $100 gift card which will be given away at the 2010 Crawl at Harlan, KY. And today, I spend ALL DAY in a junk yard trying to get parts for the Willys build BY MYSELF. It really sucked not having any help. Took me way longer and struggled quite a bit. Sometimes an extra set of hands is really helpful, ya know? I am so wore out. Unfortunately, I still wasn't able to get everything I needed.

But, the achievements on Saturday were nice.

i made my 99 sport a full width. about 70% done. NEXT weekend it SHOULD be shake down time.

I only saw one with a 22RE back in the day...and it was way out to the grill. If I remember, there were some dimensional issues there. I've heard about the diesel, and only heard good things. $800 for a good clean truck with no engine is nearly ideal! I'd do the 1.6 or 2.0. I think they are really straight forward since they are Suzuki engines. If I remember correctly, I think the 1.3 and 1.6 blocks are nearly interchangable. But, if you are starting w/an empty engine compartment...the sky's the limit! Go Diesel.:viking:
