Weekend is over...what did you get done?

On Friday I rebuilt the front suspension on my 77 Corolla TE38 wagon
Finished up about 12:30A Sat

Watched my neighbor's laundromat [A]&[G] get burglarized, Dealt w/police til 1:30A

Saturday

Slept Til 5A

Drove to ATL in my 'rolla

Delivered trans/tcase to Steven from ComancheClub.com

Went to Pull-a-Part Atlanta South [C] since they had an MJ, checked the truck over, looked at pulling the remaining rear leaf pack found 2x Craftsman ratchets:laugh3:, Scored maroon OEM floormats, 1x ZJ mesh wheel, and a few switches

Went to Fort Yargo State Park [D] for an old school Japanese car meet and greet

Met Nathan from Pirate4x4.com [E] and picked up RE C/A drop brackets w/long frame brackets.

Stopped by shelbyluvv's place [F] to deliver a trim panel and check out his full 97+ swapped MJ (Badass BTW) He hooked me up w/ a Moab (now I want 4 more... Thanks:cheers:)
Went back to Knox and slept a few hours [G]

Sunday

Met jeepgeek2002 and his wife for lunch and he joined me for the rest of the day

Drove mbogosia's house [H] Grabbed a LWB MJ OEM bedliner, and he threw in a couple ammo cans. Checked out the ATV that has caused all the trouble. Gave him a little chit for it:nono:, all in good fun of course.

Saw this lovely machine in his 'hood, "GOT PORTHOLES?", 26's and every other stick-on crap made for an Escalade

Headed toward High2by's , and had a few hours to kill until he returned from the B-ham M&G. Stopped at Home Depot, when we pulled in, saw a nice lifted XJ.

Luckily jeepgeek2002 was there to remind me; Beauty is only skin deep...

BOOOOOO!!!!

Picked out a lovely shade for my MJ
MPC0080892-2T.jpg

"Pumpkin Patch"

FYI: Two grown men should not stand in Home Depot and discuss subtle tone values, even for truck paint.;)

Then we had dinner, and went in search of WIFI.

While relaxing in the discomfort of Starbucks, began checking C/L for other interesting stuff, I happened up a post offering 8.8's fit for a Cherokee. Wonder who that could be... Fired off an email offering an ATV for trade.:laugh3: :spin1:

It was now time to meet up with High2by and pick up the D44 formally under an XJ formally owned by a certain unnamed :NAXJA: member :cough:bogosia:cough:

Loaded up and headed back to Knoxville, dropped jeepgeek2002 at his place [J]

Finally made it home [K] @ 2:30A

The tally:
45 hours
950 miles
15-20 cans of AMP
7 XJ/MJ fans met (ok truly only 6)
4 digs @ bogosia...

Don't you love it when a plan comes together...

made B.B.Q pork chops & hot dogs on the grill, watched the race,(not in that order though lol). was outside most of the day with the lil one & neighbor kids playing.

oh yeah, caught the white dog that the neighbor (from down the road) let go & took him back in the jeep :D. told me that another one of the trailers was calling it so he let it go, wtfe, i have 2 dogs to take care of i don't have time/energy to worry about someone else' dogs too.

No pics to show, but I grabbed some ZJ power leather seats from the JY. We cut off the old front mounting brackets, welded on new ones, bolted them to the floor, and ran power to them. They work great!

well saturday checked out an awesome JK, find out today if i buy it or not depending on the verdict of the so deamed "tick" under the hood...

sunday went to church, left early because my 2 yrold had a huge crisis in the sunday school room... but i did get to eat chinese for dinner woot! cleaned up the garage in anticipation of getting a JK soon...

going to pick up my hubs hopefully today, maybe even a JK...

well everything checked out, im going to get an extended warranty JIC shouldnt be too much more with employee discount and that way im safe...

going to pick her up tonight.

got my hubs finally... though they are like 1/32" further out all the way around because he was afraid to get any closer, so i will have to possibly drill out the wheels a hair line bigger to let the nuts center it up... or not im not sure yet... either way i can put the hubs on the axle now... and get moving.

found out today that the dude working on my FSJ is still waiting to get my motor back from the machine shop:( then it'll take a couple days to reassemble the motor:( then it'll take a few more days to remove the bum motor from the waggy and put the rebuilt one in:( i MIGHT get to bring it to the M&G, but i almost doubt it.oh yeah, he told me it's gonna end up costing $2500 after he told me he could do it for under $1500. i even told him that if he needed help finishing up i could even swap the motor in myself, or help him even. i'm sooo tired of waiting...
edit: he's had it since halloween.

If you've not signed anything eric, the mechanic cannot hold a "mechanic's lien" on your vehicle. Tell him to make it a priority or he doesn't get paid. And tell him you will pay the first quote and not the second.

Hmmmmm, do I recall saying something about there was no way he could do it for $1500??? Lol, if only "I told you so" would cut it. Should've brought it to me, it would have been done 2 months ago for the same price...

Blake, you want me to get you another set of hubs at the PAP this weekend since your shadetree pothead machinist messed yours up? You know that the bolt pattern HAS to be EXACTLY 5 on 4.5 because your wheels are lug centric, not hub centric. You cannot "waller out" or egg shape the holes in your wheels to make them fit.

Took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and today and cleaned up all the vehicles...both Jeeps, the Tundra, and a Malibu. Temporarily cured the squeaking suspension in mom's Jeep and changed the oil in it, as well as changed the oil in the Malibu. Brought the Tundra in this morning for it's oil change and to have the gas pedal recall thingy done to it. Takin mom's Jeep for an alignment and state inspection tomorrow morning then headed to Raleigh tomorrow evening.

I'm waiting for the "Drunk Roof Framer" comments. Probably fell off a roof and broke his fool leg.

I was stone sober, I promise.

Now, Tim, you know I wouldn't talk about you that way! You's my Buddy!!!

You were sober when you fell, but not afterwards. That was some good stuff they were giving you at the hospital!

i do have the reciept for the parts he bought, and i haven't signed anything. the screwed up thing is that i didn't take it to him to save money so much as i just didn't have time to do it myself! in the time he's had it, i've had several free weekends, and this is mtsu's spring break! i could have done it by now.... i'm not sure what i'm gonna do if i don't have the money to pay him for the work, if he ever gets it done. i could sell my motorcycle for the extra cash, but it would be sweet if i could go up there with my extra keys and just bring it home, since i never signed anything. hell, it actually runs(like crap) now, i could just bring it home, and cut my losses on what i already payed for the parts and just get it built by somebody else in may.....
