Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I put new shocks on the ZJ and the WJ....

XJ still sitting there waiting on the front end to get finished...

I got tired of not having a radio, so today I finally had a chance to replace the busted equalizer cable. Also, one of my subs was busted, and even though I really didn't want to spend the money, I went and got 2 new Alpine Type E subs. They are a good compromise at $130 each. They will handle my amp, but don't cost much more than an entry level speaker. They friggen rock, MUCH better than the infinitys IMHO. Someday I want to go through it and replace all of the cross overs and speakers to something of a later design and better technology. Most everything in the truck is from the late 90s, and while it was the absolute top of the line stuff back then, its kinda getting out dated now. Oh well, some day maybe. The Willys is in dire need of a set of Chromo shafts front and rear, so that will most likely come first. Didn't want to buy the speakers, as that would almost cover a set of rear axles for the Jeep, but blown speakers = :puke:.

Nice scores! You only ripped off the the bumper cap in December :). Post up a picture of the mirrors.

Now like most of you know...I am half ass at best, so I didn't hook up the power function or anything or take the guts out of the old ones and try to hook them up in the new ones...this is old school baby, hand on the mirror adjustment style.

Not so much what I did this weekend but what I had done as I lack the skillz and toolz to build such things.

But now the XJ is sporting a new look out back with a swing away on a seriously heavy duty bumper. All this thanks to Tyler and Rock Solid Off Road.

It's just a cell pic, only thing I have at the moment, but I'm pretty excited about the new hardware.

Finished up some more wiring and got everything ready to install main power leads to hopefully get the rig fired up if everything is hooked up correctly. Narrowed the hood down to the size it will end up and gutted all the under side supports, surprisingly all of the supports on the inside of the hood are basically held in place with some sticky foam stuff. All it takes is a screw driver or claw hammer to seperate the supports from the hood. Got a long weekend this coming weekend so going to work on cutting down the body making it narrower, ultimate goal is to have a cage that's 50" outside to outside then narrow to 32" at the front by rad.

I got to watch shortxjdoug explain to me his warn winch had color coordinated wires to hook the winch up and yet he put the blue wire on the green post and realized only after he put the bolt on it!
LOL

Well hot damn my old mirrors look good on there!

Put a crank sensor and a fuel filter on my buddy's 96 ZJ 4.0 tonight in hopes of solving a low idle and intermittent cut out. Idle seems to be much better...CPS tested bad at one point, then tested good again....so i'm still thinking that it was good we replaced it.

I gotta wonder about the Marine Corps efficiently... They loaded their truck wrong today which resulted in losing units out of the truck while driving, and then getting stuck off the side of the main road to collect the units! All I can think while pulling him out is how pissed my boss is going to be that I got the truck muddy...

(Just in case... I'm kidding. The Marines I'm working with are great)

move dthe jeep from where i have been parking since we moved here in december to just infront of the trailer.

all due to the "neighbors" that are catty-corner from us pitchin a fit about where i park. so i moved it to right infront of THEIR driveway, like they birched at me about doing. lol then called the parks owner & asked him to clearify where i'm to park. & found out i was parkin EXACTLY where i should have been! lol

Plan on starting around 7 tonight to put the motor back in the FJ. If you wanna free beer and to come hang out your more then welcome to. PM me for directions. Wingnut will be there also. If you wanna wrench great, if you want to just shoot the $#!% great.

ran a weeks worth of errands in one day.... borrowed the box's engine hoist picked up new motor project from the dock, unloaded said motor and stored it and went to another frieght terminal across town to get my tires and then worked from 5-11...... im beat

JeepAddict, Wingnut, and RacketBallBoy (Greg's friend) worked from 6-1am on the FJ. The motor is in for the most part, just need to finish lining up the trans and two motor mount bolt holes. Thanks for the help, for drinking my beer, and plenty of BS.

i got a free motorcycle! it's a pile o' crap ninja 250, but it was free! i think i'm gonna build a gokart with the engine, or just put it on my current gokart.... gonna get it goin and ride it a bit first though. as far as i know, it just needs the carbs cleaned out. i have ridden it before, but had to clean the carbs when my buddy bought it, and 6 months later he says it runs like crap again, so when he left his old apartment, he abandoned it, and yesterday told me if it's still there, i can have it. i'm waiting for him to call me back so i can get the keys.:D

Replaced the driver side rear axle bearing and seal. Dirty little project. Passenger side will have to wait.

Did a zj disc conversion this morning. The drum brakes I had were good, but wow what a difference!
