Weekend is over...what did you get done?

wow!

yeah-- I gave it up years ago, but it was definitely a nice bargaining chip for some of the missing parts.......

round two: no rest for the weary:

-track bar replaced
-track bar mount tightened (enough play to see it move)
-tie rods and adjustment sleeves replaced (someone tried to tow it from them I think)
-sway bar links replaced (they were completely separated from the lower mounts due to previous accident)
-full chassis lube
-put dash back together and pull codes (12, 21, 55)

12= battery disconnected Duh. I had to disconnect it to put in new Orbital)
21= O2 sensor not changing (duh, it wasn't there without the exhaust)
55= end of diagnostics (yippie)

looks like I've got it running better than I thought!!

hmmm....what size tires man? wheels?

I was there puled some interior pieces from it. They were 30x9.5 15 they had good tread but they were dry and one had a good slice in the side. I ask about CFC and they are not going to get any in, they also told me there was a 15k fine if a CFC car's motor was not disabled.

That's strange. I was watching Channel 5 news and they had the guy from Pull-A-Part on there saying they expected to received vehicles from the CFC program. The guy looked official, not some dude in a nasty, greasy shirt.

Well, not much progress this weekend....too hot for a fat dude.

Satuday went Cherokee shopping for my mother-in-law. She has seen the light. Found several and one she really likes.

Satuday night, decided to replace my lower ball joint since I screwed up the last one. Got mad, cussed a little, beat the crap out of it with a hammer, blah, blah, blah. Finally took both upper and lower out and did it right. Got the new one in and upper reinstalled. Misplaced the special 4 pronged socket the fits the tapered lower sleeve.

Sunday, went to a buds house and got a socket from him. Too lazy and hot to go back outside to fix it now.

Thats just what the guys ringing me up said. They said that in IN they were going to get some though. They would probably make a killing with all the like new interio/body parts they could sell off some of those cars.

Worked on my a/c yesterday and got it blowing cold again instead of cool (just in time for 100* days too!) Spent this morning studying for my final at 8am tomorrow, drove up to Winston to have dinner with the family before my step sis leaves for UNCW next week. Now time to hit the books a little bit more then maybe go have a brew with a good friend.

Friday: Trail rate this and JeepAddict85 both stopped by and either hung out or helped with the cowl hood. Both sides are now welded in, just need some finish welding and grinding before bondo and paint.
Saturday: Took the cub scouts out to Lowe's for their free kid's workshop where they build rubber-band paddle boats. Family dinner over at old man's house to celebrate his and my step mom's birthday
Sunday: Church, Birhtday pool party, and church picnic.
Uh I need a weekend from my weekend.

friday...got my hood sanded and painted, its nearing completion! and stopped by Glenns to see the progress on his cowl hood.
saturday...worked around the house, dinner with the fam
sunday...10 mile kayak trip down the Buffalo river, my shoulders are a tad sore this morning

Friday = laid out the invisable fence for the invisable dogs with the boys.
Saturday = Went out early to get started on the trench for the wire. Made it 10' with the shovel and came in to call the local rental place. $45 and a few hours later and the 1000' of trench was dug and we were setting the wire in it. Worked on it till Saturday afternoon and got about 600' dug before my back knees and boys were tired.
Sunday = Went to Flo-town and rented a car for the trip to Hotlanta. Left around 4:30 after getting the boys sent to their aunts. Stoped in columbia and ate at the Mellow Mushroom, I see why so many college students eat there, and wished I could partake in a few of their 100 beers! Headaed back out to Atlanta and arrived their around 11:30. Drove around in a Florida tagged car looking like an idiot while searching for the Medical facility and a nearby hotel. Ended up almost getting hit by a silver Farrai and a red Bently. Ended up getting a room at the Renaissance in downtown Atlanta around 1 am. I have a nice view of the Varsity!

Happy Monday!

Fri - went out to eat with the family (mmm Sushi!), drank to much and went to bed
Sat - my buddy came over to help me take apart the intake and exhaust to replace the busted manifold. took 6 hours and we both got sunburned as all hell, but it is replaced and running. got some smoke from where the exhaust meets the manifold, figured i didn't have it tight enough, so left it for the night to re-torque after it had cooled.
Sun - turned on the jeep and let it get to temp, no smoke at all. seems that the seal thing that helps connect the manifold to the exhaust must smoke when it is first connected and settling into place b/c it doesn't smoke anymore. will keep an eye on it though. did hear a small whistle and have traced it down to the #3 injector, o ring must be bad, but i am going to replace all 6 with ford injectors soon anyways. mowed the lawn and fixed some broken parts of our fence.

Drove the XJ into work today and was AMAZED at how quiet it is now! i thought there was something wrong at first! planning to drive it the rest of the week of course and then re-torque the bolts and exhaust as needed. after running seafoam on my last tank with the bad manifold, i was getting 19.4 MPG. i hope the new manifold adds a couple more!

saturday = went to the lake with the family and... rope swing+swimming = tired, sunburnt, sore

sunday = went shopping with wife and kid. picked up some new kicks and had lunch with the family, that night went to homedepot to look at flooring for basement and argued with the wife on what to put down... then worked that night while watching 'in plain site'

Got my driver door back together w/ my new upgrade armrest door pull after spending an hour getting a 3/4" clip in a hot and dusty paper wasp infested JY. Dealer price for tinny clip $21.95, JY price 50 cents. :yelclap: works and looks so good I guess I'll have to upgrade the other side.:flipoff:
