Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Saturday Morning: National Cemetary with Scouts putting out flags and doing my best to help my group of 2nd graders better understand the importance and meaning of Memorial Day.
Sunday: Movie/Lazy day with the family
Monday: Spent time with family going through and scanning old pics at my grandparents house.

made the maiden voyage to memphis on the new lift kit in the g-waggy.party1: she did well! it was a pretty long trip, and i calculated that my gas mileage SUCKS! seriously, like 13mpg. i think i can adjust the timing and carb screws, maybe a better air filter, and i might be able to get it up to 15.:gee:

got my axle back after chasing down 2 diff carriers, ground down some thrust washers, finding a pin and getting the lockrite. now just got to get the stroker built, and make some sway bar links to weld to my axle.

i did a motor swap. and now im going to update my signature :D

took the XJ wheeling for a change... due to new tire/wheels.
removed flares...
trimmed fenders... (about time)
scouted out some land...

Sunday I though about installing my modified RE track bar(TJ track bar extended and installed superflex joint at the axle end) and track bar bracket but didn't.
Monday left work early to get the trailer and couldn't get the trailer out of my friends yard, so went back to work and installed my RE tack bar and bracket. I don't think I need to worry about breaking track bars anymore now I just need to relocate the grease fitting in the axle side super flex joint since I cannot get a grease gun in there to grease it.

Replaced lower radiator hose that tried to let go yesterday...2 weeks after I put a water pump on (should have stuck with my gut and replaced the hose then). Also installed a ZJ fan clutch to try and keep the temps down some now that it's getting to be summer and the traffic is getting to be worse.

Tore apart my friends Mustang tonight trying to find the source of a upper end knock. Going to finish putting it back together tomorrow once we get a new valve cover gasket.

Traded my XJ Country honeycomb wheels for some 15x8 Cragar Soft 8's. Got'em mounted up today.

Track Bar bushings...been true for me every time.....one 70 mph pothole takes em out every time...instant mushy cracked bushings....then slowly it gets worst.....then the dreaded DW!

death wobble search continues... so i went to get an alignment and the shop had it up on the lift and showed me how bad my balljoints were, oops, i couldnt tell on my own, but he had the wheel off the ground and pryed up under it, they moved up and down about 1/2" on the driver side.

so i replaced those and wouldnt ya know, drove like an almost new jeep, almost, i still got a little wobble at 55mph but i think the alignment will fix that, so after the alignment later today when i get off work i get to tackle my next project...

i replaced the 0331 head after it cracked but now i have a collapsed lifter, sticky valve or loose rocker... i can't wait to see... noisy at startup like diesel, plenty of fresh oil, i tried MMO, no luck, performance has sucked recently... the resurrection continues

2000 XJ 185kmi, 2" lift, np242, wk wheels, someday it will be new again... right ?

rear shocks, gutted interior, cut patch an welded up the rust hole, cleaned and reorganized garage truck box and toolbox.... whew what a day...

Drove to Cartersville (an hour drive both ways) to look at a '96. Got there and attempted to contact seller who I had spoken with earlier this morning for directions (as we had agreed). Left a message, left another message. Spoke with what I asssume was the seller's small child. Left another message. Never got a call back or anything.
I got home and all adds had been pulled off CL for the vehicle.
As of this morning they had no one interested and hadn't in the month it had been for sale. I don't know if it got repo'd or WTF happened. I hope karma is truely a bitch....
Wasted a tank of gas and the better part of a day.:flamemad:

Then.........I went to mow the yard and the mower decided to act up until I ended up mowing in the dark.

Now......I'm watching my wife model some of her latest purchases from Vicki's Secret.

There's hope for this day yet.

Put the stang back together Thursday, worked on finishing up a a 4Runner with a friend that was converted from IFS to SFA and dual tcases Friday afternoon, dinner with the gf Friday night, Lake Norman with the GF and a couple of friends of ours yesterday and today, and back to my friend's house tonight for a cookout and to try out the 4Runner.

Got my beadlocks done this week and got the jeep re-painted. Tried out Blakes Jeep on Saturday and found some problems we need to address. Picked up and Exploder 8.8 and T-case. Then today I pulled the 44 out of the Willys in hope to finish the other one and get it installed but found more Carnage than I expected, so that will have to wait another couple of weeks.

took the g-waggy wheeling and camping on short mountain, didn't get stuck or mess anything up. bought a mig welder, helped a buddy trim fenders on an xj, and made some quick disconnect door hinges for a 75 bronco... nice and productive, the way i like it.
