Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I don't push mine over 3500, or I really try not to anyway. 20 year old motor burning oil is asking for a bad situation when I get really twisted up and starve a rod for oil running low and that fast. I got so off camber on Saturday I finally cut the Jeep off with it 3/4 full of gas.

I'm going to install an electric line lock for my rear brakes. I Am going to use a copper line cutting tool to cut it, but what is the best way to prevent draining the MC of all the brake fluid? Or should I suck out what I can, cut it and then let it gravity fill back up?

Went on some easy forest service roads yesterday in the Wrangler. Well I should say we tried to. We went to Dawson Forest, but it was closed (again), so we went over to the Jones Creek area. By the time we got back to the cooler areas I'd already begun to have kidney stone issues (again), so I stopped and let my buddies know I'd be hanging it up for the day and I went home. I ended the day in the pool at the in-law's place.

Today I went to go to the pool again, and when I got there I saw a puddle of fluid under Wendy's red ZJ. Upper radiator hose had split, so I fixed it before getting in the pool. After that I went home, came back outside....puddle of fluid under my Suburban. Another upper radiator hose! At least they're fixed now and it wasn't on the road an hour's walk from a parts store!

Then this popped up in my yard!

It belongs to a friend of mine's daughter's boyfriend (you following all that?) It has some serious idling issues, which should be fun to figure out since I know zilch about Renix systems. He also has no dash lights, and when the headlights are turned on the left turn indicator on the cluster lights up. More fun with electricals! The last one will be an easy-in, easy-out....rear main seal.

And for any of you Renix guys, do any of you know what this plug goes to?

It's just hanging out there in the breeze and I don't see any obvious place it belongs.

Not sure about on NAXJA, but on CherokeeForum (I know...) there is a renix master by the name of Cruiser54 that could answer every question you will ever have. Actually he is on here too, maybe just not as much.

This weekend I finished off 90% of my Crawl list, did some homework, and cut my grandparents grass for them since theyre out of town. Broke the push mower from 1970 and brought it home to weld the handle bar back and to the deck. Fixed it but might add a little more before I take it back.

I just ran across his "Mostly Renix Tips" thread over there. Good stuff for sure. Thanks!

Ask Nate James. Aka 87manche on here.
Will do

Drove up to Snowshoe WV yesterday for the GNCC races. Watched some quads tear it up yesterday, and bikes today.

Doug I believe knows a good bit too Mike! And as we can see Nick has learned a good bit...... Finished up most of my Crawl stuff. Spent Saturday in a Cracker Barrel waiting on family to return form VA and have lunch with them. A storm came through and was really bad. Which brings me to my Sunday. Went over to GF house to remove a branch that said storm took out that was dangling.... Got some fresh pine for the fire pit in Harlan now!

Also, I feel the need to point out that if you don't already have one you should build a traction bar. The difference it made is freakin amazing. I went from worn out springs to good springs and a traction bar. Holy crap, it's like a totally different Jeep.

Harlan Harlan Harlan Harlan Harlan......Is it the 2nd yet?

Ill be flogging on mine at Golden Mountain this fall!!

I really want to go again, I just dont know when... November might be the best time for me. I have Harlan and Chocco the next two weekends after this one, take a month off to save money, Jeepfest, Gulches, and I'll try to do Gray Rock and Golden in November.
