Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Took the driver door off cut the pin and replaced it with a .25 grade 8 bolt. Removed the pasanger door. Will do the hinge some time this week. One of those damn torx button head bolts stripped so I spent most of today grinding the head off with a die grinder and compressor that can bairly inflate my tires. FML!

Glenn, did I give you a complex? Gotta have them doors off. :)

No I have a half door I built that I wnat to be able to swap in. Trying this method before I cut the hinge. I don't like that method, but I don't wwant to have to deal with the 6 screws that hold them on.

i didn't really get anything done, but my girlfriend backed into my jeep luckily its high enough it just took a little paint off my bumper. her altima wasn't so lucky haha. good excuse for a new bumper though.

Yeah those bolts are a pain. Might I ask why you don't like to the cut hinge method? I don't see why running bolts thru would work but it sure will be interesting to watch you take them on and off that way. :)

Did I say anything about it being fast? Just in theory it should be faster then the torx bolts. The door gets sloopy when you cut half the hinge off.

You're just not holding your mouth right. I cut mine almost 4 years ago and the last time I had mine on they were good and tight. Not quite as tight as factory but they weren't noticably sloppy.

I probably would have thanked her and ended up sleeping on the couch...

Does not! If you aren't planning on switching them out though, I can see not cutting.

Did a little bit of cleaning on the hoopty 89 I picked up. I bet I vacuumed 40 lbs of dirt out of the floor.

I still haven't started cleaning the vinyl parts.

As far as the faded paint goes... what's the best way to make that look better without painting it? Lightly wet sand and wax the hell out of it?

Sanded a tiny bit on the hood last night. Sanded there to see what it would look like since I'll be spraying bedliner on the hood anyways. I think 800 was a bit too much...

It's smooth and the oxidation is gone but so is the paint. :) But I guess the paint was missing there to begin with. Think I'm just going to sand the sucker down and find some gray spray paint. Lay it on thick and sand it back down and hit it with a buffer.

whats raptorliner? is it like herculiner?

It is similar to herculiner but better i have used both rapotliner in my jeep and herculiner in my old s-10. The raptorliner took 1/8th the time to install and in my opinion looks and holds up way better then the herculiner.

I plan on using it on my hood in the near future due to the clear coat peeling and once i do that i feel like im not going to stop and the whole jeep is going to be covered in it.

ME-820 U-Pol Raptor Truck Bed Liner Kit - Black
$109.00

I have had it on my rockers for over a year now it has never held dirt in and you cant tell the difference btwn it being paint or bedliner until you get up real close to it to see the texture.

I like the stuff but more than 50 bucks is too much to invest in paint for this thing right now. I still haven't decided which direction I want to take.

I'm kinda thinking Semi Gloss Gray with Duplicolor Bedliner down the sides and on the hood. It's just a matter of getting the gray to look right. I'm no painter.

let me understand this liner idea.. on paint. you get it dirty it comes off pretty easy but on liner.. its got nooks and crannies like an english muffin.. how does the dirt come off then?

So why not just get a mat black color instead?
