This has been an interesting two days.

Yesterday I was at the gas station and almost got backed over while walking into the store. Then some girl came running out hollering that that was her car and someone had stole it. So, being the super hero that I am I followed him in the trusty rusty Jeep while on the phone with E-911. I was in a Jeep, he stole a Nissan Maxima. Needless to say, he out ran me.

Then, this morning I got a call telling me that one of my friends kids were in a car wreck.
All 4 of there kids in the same car. The oldest son was taking the other 3 to school and flipped the car 3 times. They're all banged up but they'll be ok.

Sold the Liberty, bought a Kayak and searching for a Wrangler.

Soccer games today and tomorrow at 7:15.

Damn, I'm tired.

It will be okay next weekend you can wheel and relax

I finally got around to installing my new Transmission Cooler and Transmission temperature gauge. I really like how it turned out and having the new added sense of security.

I need that on my transmission Ben.

The donor axle has 2 piece knuckles and the part that the brake pads hook into are about 1/4 inch to small. I have the necessary knuckle to replace it, but turns out I don't have a 1 1/4 inch socket, so I couldn't loosen the lower ball joint nut. I was 15 minutes from having it complete and had to stop.

Got a 1 1/4 socket and got it home, only to find that the donor axle had 1 5/16 nut on it. Off to get another socket. Got the nut and knuckle off to find out the ball joint it shot. Now back to the parts store to rent a ball joint press.

Damn Jeep's been on jack stands since August 11 when I opened the diff to start my locker install.

Wouldn't it be nice if one job went the way I planned?

Rule #1 of working on Jeeps - Nothing EVER goes as planned. Period.

Rule #2 of working on Jeeps - Take the amount of time it SHOULD take to do something, and multiply it by AT LEAST 10

These rules are commonly known as "murphy's law" and can easily be applied to vehicles other than Jeeps.

Amen brotha!
As I've come to accept these truths, my frustration level has significantly declined :D

It's not a proper Jeep project until the cut-off wheel comes out to play.

She's been out. Only way I could get the nut off the bad ball joint after the bolt started spinning with the nut. Hell, I even needed the cut-off wheel to change shocks on my wife's WJ! Damn bent lower shock mount tab.

Pressing the joints have me a little anxious since I've never been terribly successful doing them with the auto parts store rental gear.

Slapped some Hella 500FF's on the new DD and took the dogs to the river to swim on her inaugural drive.
