Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Holy Crap!!!! There is a guy at a shop about 30 mins away from me that does them for 60 bucks if you take them out, and he guarantees them for life!

In other news; another Dana 30 was found dead at Rock Solid Off Road Fabrication today. Investigators suspect foul play with a Miller brand plasma cutter that was found on the premises. Officials can't say for sure, but due to the large suspected amount of deaths on the property, they fear they have another serial cutter. The family has not been notified, but the axle will be remembered through a new High Pinion Dana 44, who is suspected to have received some of its younger brother's body parts.

Mark, the axle looks great man! It should bolt right in, all that's left is installing the hubs and rotors and welding on the upper mount, as well as steering and a track bar. I think we should be able to accomplish our goal this weekend!

Mark what did that 44 come out of? I have been thinking of building a 44 to go with the 8.8.

I installed a new head unit in the saturn, fixed the speaker wiring in the MJ, adjusted the throttle body plate, went to the landfill, bought buns, started detailing the MJ before we got rained out.

Ughh I need to do it but feel like I'll do a half a$$ job. Anyone know how much an upholstery place would charge?

Get up with Chris K. He did his recently and it came out really well (he's pretty anal about stuff like that too). He can tell you what stuff to get and where to get it.

Mine's starting to sag so it's on the list to fix as well.

To Ed: (If he reads this)

The 15" soft 8s that were on my axle (Ed's axle) were 4" backspacing. So, I feel like pretty much any 15" steel wheel should fit with the WJ conversion that you have.

Good deal. I may have some wheels that should work.

Its tight, real tight but it works. There was about an 1/8" between the caliper and the wheel. I think the teaves calipers are bigger. Akebonos (what you have) don't require as much grinding.

I obtained some LED tailights for my CJ from YellowXJ (THanks Travis) and put them on this morning.
I also got a set of seats to fab into my big MJ so I can use the seats out of it in my little MJ and start using the little one as a DD. I also found a great deal on some barely used 31's to put on my little MJ. Of course with 3.55 gears (someone swapped in the WRONG geared rear end) it will be a slug but as soon as I find a D_44/8.25 or 8.8 with the right gears I'll swap that in and be ok.

I wish I could find a good set of 31s for a steal. Got more pics of the CJ? I like that color? I'm thinking about trying to find a nice YJ to drive around in the summer.

Well, just finished up the D44 swap in Mark's Jeep. He is now headed back to Smyrna. Dang its big with the 37s! The rear springs were a tad taller than he thought they'd be, so we had to adjust the front to make them fit. We had a few issues with death wobble after getting it together but after swapping a tire around we got it a lot better. I don't want to spoil his fun so I'll let him post the first pictures. :)

There is a mobile guy here in Nashville that will come to your house, remove, repair, and replace for $150.

I HIGHLY recommend seeing tyler at Rock Solid fab for any and all fabwork or any work on your jeep. i love my new steering/trac bar setup. he can do it alot cheaper and quicker than you could do it.

it held up great to some nasty wheeling yesterday at hawk pride ohv
here is a pic i took sitting on the trails, i love my new krawlers. They seem to grab and pull me over everything.

the windstorm on friday knocked it over, completely destroyed my neighbors shed, and parts of his fence as well. now i get have to deal with my insurance company

What happened to that 5150? I've been shopping shocks for a while and these are on the short list, but not after seeing that photo.

Why? I've done that to a Doestech shock and have seen it done to just about every other brand out there. I think Andy told me he was running the 5150's on the race jeep too. So far he seems pleased with them.

Well, I was looking at the 5150 because it is a real popular JeepSpeed shock from what I have seen. The 5160 just came out, but they won't warranty it if you put it on a vehicle other than what they spec'd it for (XJ over 3" lift is out of spec I believe), so the 5160 isn't an option, I went back to considering the 5150.

That's crazy, I've never seen that done to a shock. What causes it? You coming down with Andy and Andy to Auburn?

No that is too farm for me with gas hovering around $4.00. I did mine on Daniel at URE. I was climbing the right line in 2 wd when it broke. :dunno:

He got it pinched between a stump and his gas tank skid plate. Any shock will do that. They are warrentying it. I love the shocks and recoment them to anybody. I run them on my jeep. Absorbs all the bumps.
