I am having too much trouble getting a u joint cap in. Damn front axle!
I worked on the D44 some yesterday. I finished the gear/spool set up and got the axles in and the spindles on. I ruined a $130 hub when I was pressing a bearing race in with my 30 ton press. Who knew you could mushroom the outer edge of the hub so easy! It was stupid of me to press against that anyhow. So, I had to order one from NAPA to pick up this morning. By the way, if anyone local needs to borrow my setup bearings for the D44 they are welcome. They take a while to make but its the only way to set up a 44 gear set.
The antenna will not make it unless it has some major flex in it. I killed two antenna's just becasue they stuck up over two feet above the top of my jeep.Got some wider load bars installed. Having my bike trays inside the basket just wasn't working out. Also stripped off the stock roof rack while I had everything off.
I also moved my CB antenna from the spare tire carrier to the basket after this picture. Going to test out the new location's survivability before I retire this old antenna and get a new one/retune.

Do you have a spring on yours Nick? I can't remember..
If you run a spring and a metal whip keep an eye on it while transmitting. If you transmit while the whip is bent over and pressed against anything metal you will likely blow out your finals in the radio. That's about all I can think of. I run a spring because the trees love jeeps around here.
brought home another one.... this one is Sam's jeep tho, shes been driving the truck for a few months so its time to get her her own ride.... 2000 4.0 aw4 231 d30/35.

Which outer edge? It wasn't anything you could fix with a dremel tool? I've got a couple 6 lug hubs... if you wanted to acquire some.
Oh yeah, it was 5 F when we were skiiing/snowboarding, with the windchill in the -15 to -20 F range.
-15* wind chill...and skiing.....you guys are hartier...uh...younger than I... Specially for NC skiing....didn't think they had anything worth that kind of sacrifice
