Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Friday project in the works..
Gained about 2" up front, 1.5 rear-Clutch fixed-felt "death wobble" gotta fix that, put on 33" tires for fit test. "New" ones on the way. Aquired the white steels.(Need touch up work)

Overall, not a bad days work. got about 4.5 inches of lift and when the new meets get installed, just some beefy front end work and gearing to complete.

Looking really good, Blue. What brand and type of tires do you have on the way?

I removed the rear carpet from the XJ and found very little rust. What I found I can patch with a few small pieces of metal. The only issue I had was trying to remove two of the seat belt bolts (stupid torx head crap). I got two out but twisted my bit trying on #3 , so I gave up and just tore the carpet.

A front floor pan is in the works since that is where the majority of the rust is located. Now to place the order and drive to Atlanta to pick it up.

I also need to be deciding what I want to do about coating the floor pans with something that will inhibit rust. Some kind of DIY bed liner and then a carpet. The XJ is just to "tinny" sounding without it.

I'm still sore from chipping ice away from the mailbox yesterday, having a steel plate in my left shoulder and many dislocations to the same shoulder doesn't help the situation so I rested this weekend. I've been eating tylonal and smelling like icyhot all weekend.

I did get out and wash the salt off of the JK and the Commander and I finished up the T-case. I gave the T-case a coat of paint after installing the SYE and 2-low kits.

Well, like I said above I bought a welder. A Hobart 140. Then today my wife and I built a workbench. I need to get a vice for the corner and a bench grinder and I'm good to go. :)

Well I was driving home from work saturday and I thought my caliper was slightly sticky because I could smell me brakes burnin'! Well as the day progressed that damn caliper did everything but lock up solid. On the interstate the XJ wouldn't even go into 4th gear because it was being loaded down so much and pulling left so hard, and when you hit the brakes the thing about would go in the ditch if you weren't too careful. Anywho that UNCC kid came to the rescue and sold me some new calipers and brake pads...The LF rotor is probably smoked, but I don't care, because I did brakes about 7 months ago w/ brand new rotors.

SO, what did I get done? Basically just a front brake job for 50 bucks.

P.S. Rumor has it that air escapes when the bleeder on the caliper is at the TOP of the caliper.:laugh3:

Swapped in a like new center console in the 99 and reworked my axle vent tubes into one tube that ends under the hood.

Also added some HP to the heep with the addition of some well placed STICKERS!!!:roflmao:

.

Are you buying a pre-formed pan? I'll need to get mine fixed this summer.

Also, reinstalled a new CPS. So now I will be troubleshooting why the spark on the plug is orange/yellow instead of blue. I'm thinking the ignition coil may need a replacing.

Looks great. The welder fits on that cart nice.

Get the bike helmet off your bench and you'll get your man card back

Man, I have a 5" full suspension bike that bombs down rocky trails. If thats not manly, I don't know what to tell you.

It's ok, just invite him to follow you one ride :)

I for one played hookey on Friday and went mountain biking in the warm weather. Saturday I went to the International Rod Building Expo and picked up what I needed to build a new casting rod, then got some yard work done and painted/installed a replacement tail light (thanks Timmy!).

Still have to replace the rear brake line, I stripped mine, blead brakes, and install the new tie rod. PS pump finally died, so I have to replace that too.

Played poker for 6 hours Friday night.....
Went to Pull A Part for a blower motor resistor - scored one. While there I found a 1997 GC with rear disk brakes intact and complete(even emergency brakes cables and brackets).... SCORE!! (Guess what the XJ is getting next weekend)
Replaced TRE on trackbar...
Replaced the bolts in the swaybar disconnects with Grade 8...
Replaced the stabilizer bar to draglink mounting bolt with Grade 8...
Adjusted the worm gear on the steering box. (I think my steering box is toast)

Built a water ionizer .... don't ask
During the week - replaced the chrysco 8.25....
