Lol it's enough for my lady to let us put around the parking lot together though. She can't wait to get a little bigger so I can get her a real helmet of her own and take her around the block and to school...near by places.

I take my kid to/from school regularly on the bike. He loves it.

Come spring time I want to get him a street helmet and jacket so he can come on longer rides with me.

Been eyeing some cruisers lately. Looking not full bagged. Just headlight up front. Wider rear tire and slightly larger motor (1100+). As a Honda guy and as I've had one a long time ago I was looking at the vtx series. Any other viable options You would suggest with those criteria. Preferring used as most new bikes are hideous.

not a cruiser but i know where a pair a 01 and 05 harley fsx are sitting for a good deal

Did you mean FXS, as in a Soft Tail? Those are cruisers.

Mike, the Honda Shadow 1100 and VTX are both pretty popular. Metric wise I've always been a Kawasaki fan and if you can find a MeanStreak or VN2000 those are pretty sweet. Also the Yamaha Warrior and Raider are bad ass muscle bikes. I Harley FXR or Dyna would be great choices too, best handling cruiser chassis' HD ever had and very easy to modify. Also you could check out the Victory Cruiser line. The High Ball is my favorite from them in terms of smaller cruisers.

I guess it just depends on exactly what you're looking for in a cruiser as that can be a pretty broad term. Muscle bike, bar hopper, touring? Lots of routes to go.

I ditched the Concours and made the switch back to a bagger. The Victory Cross Country handles really well for a big bagger and is so damn comfy. I'm very happy with it, it just feels right.

I knew what he meant lol.
I'm actually headed to Vegas here in a few hours so imma demo some bikes out there and see what I can't get ahold of. Deals might be better out there two and I can bring it back end of April when I drive the girls truck out

That's the best thing to do, just ride as many as you can and go with the one that fits you best.

Aesthetically and comfort wise, I'm diggin the Honda shadow phantom. However it's only a 750. And I have to get a big body for a bigger motor and I don't want the big body or awkward small body. Yikes.

My wife has a 2008 Honda Shadow Spirit. Its a great bike in terms of reliability and I think it looks pretty good too. That said, I'm not a fan at all. That 750 V-twin is way under powered and it gets pretty vibey once you hit 70mph. Its pretty maxed out just doing the speed limit on the interstate, you can get it to a bit over 80mph but its at the end of its steam supply. I don't find it comfortable at all. Once I get over 65mph the vibes make my groin and thighs go instantly numb, it hurts my lower back, and it feels cramped. I was more comfy on my TTR-225 minus its inability to do more than 60mph.

If that is the size you're thinking I would look at the new Vulcan 650S (it has the Ninja 650 motor in it), a Yamaha Bolt, or a Sportster.

Honestly though, a Dyna isn't much bigger than my wife's Shadow (she wants a Dyna Street Bob as her next bike) and has a lot more motor. The Shadow 750 is pretty much a full sized cruiser with a very low seat height and tiny motor. Its physically bigger than a Sportster and not much smaller than a Vulcan 900 Custom or Dyna, just with a lot lower seat height.

If you want to ride a Shadow hit me up, I'll let you take the wife's out for a spin.

And that was downside. I was riding mostly side roads as the shop wouldn't let me hit the highway. If I keep up like this I'm going to end up back on a 4banger.

If you are after a smaller bike I think that Vulcan S might fit the ticket. Being its a Ninja 650 motor it should make better power than any of the sub-1000cc V-Twins out there and might have a characteristic more in line with your back ground. Its a bike that really peaks my interest.

Personally, based on your interest in a Shadow for looks/size I would suggest a used HD Dyna or a Victory Vegas.

Also, while older the Shadow 1100 was pretty much the exact same bike as the Shadow 750 but with a bigger motor. That means if you were comfy on the Shadow 750 you would still be comfy on the 1100, and have more power. That bigger engine should also be a lot better on the interstate as it won't be at its limit maintaining those speeds.

You might also want to check out the Triumph America and Thunderbird. The Thunderbird Storm is really bad ass looking.

I didn't like the yamaha bikes. And didn't want to do a HD unless was only reasonable option. More demo when we get back from Disney.

Well the search for a cruiser is on hold. Can't seem to find what I want without being way out of the range I want. So going to reasses my wants and see what I come up with.

Shit, you could almost buy a brand new bike for that. Have you checked out the new Indian Scout? Its sweet as hell looking and makes 100hp from its little V-twin.
