My wife has a 2008 Honda Shadow Spirit. Its a great bike in terms of reliability and I think it looks pretty good too. That said, I'm not a fan at all. That 750 V-twin is way under powered and it gets pretty vibey once you hit 70mph. Its pretty maxed out just doing the speed limit on the interstate, you can get it to a bit over 80mph but its at the end of its steam supply. I don't find it comfortable at all. Once I get over 65mph the vibes make my groin and thighs go instantly numb, it hurts my lower back, and it feels cramped. I was more comfy on my TTR-225 minus its inability to do more than 60mph.
If that is the size you're thinking I would look at the new Vulcan 650S (it has the Ninja 650 motor in it), a Yamaha Bolt, or a Sportster.
Honestly though, a Dyna isn't much bigger than my wife's Shadow (she wants a Dyna Street Bob as her next bike) and has a lot more motor. The Shadow 750 is pretty much a full sized cruiser with a very low seat height and tiny motor. Its physically bigger than a Sportster and not much smaller than a Vulcan 900 Custom or Dyna, just with a lot lower seat height.
If you want to ride a Shadow hit me up, I'll let you take the wife's out for a spin.
