That bike looks really good. Did you get the rear tray from a vendor or was it something you fabbed and glassed?

It's from hotwingglass.com I came across his site when I built my cafe xs650 years ago and was really impressed with the quality of the seat and the price was really good too.

I ordered the tracker style seat/tail that was actually meant to go on a goldwing, the dimensions were really close and with a little trimming on the sides and front it fits the bike like it was made for it.

Hey mike, I was going to ask you when you were talking about raising you clip-ons. Why not just do a dirt bike bar conversion?

Makes sense, I was just wondering as you mentioned dirt bike bar angles and width.

Right. That's closest 'factory' feel to what I will be going for. However dirtbike bars would sit several inches higher than the clipons Im getting and give me a bit too much an aggressive ride. The setup I'm going to should net me almost 3" in grip height and about 40* of forward sweep vs the factory configuration.

Got the cage, rear sprocket, chain, and extra rear caliper/pads in today so hoping to get what I can of those knocked out this weekend. Curious how the +6 makes a difference on the street. Still waiting on the clipons, new ss line, dual caliper bracket, and my r6 master and I can get the HB and other controls set up. Getting closer.

So here's the cage I'll be installing. The weather and getting the lady moved in put a damper on that process. I'll have to trim the fairings around the mounting locations. It's a 3 point per side plus a cross bar under headers to support side to side as well. Impaktech is making some big improvements in the cage world so looking forward to giving em a try. Considering their subcage as well.

Finally found a tinted shield for my lid, and the picked the lady up her new lid. Also a shoei, hers has a built in drop down tinted shield under the outer clear one. Pretty rad design and the paints pretty fancy too.

Otherwise I got the rear sprocket and new chain installed. Haven't really ridden it since. But should be a great upgrade.

Bit of a scary moment yesterday. Was taking the 85/470 interchange when the chain side collar decided it was just going to split where apparently it had been cracked. Being pitched in turn and the rear wheel and drive assembly coming loose and wobbly was not fun. Tore up the sprocket mount but otherwise everything else is fine. Have new collar on order and should be here Friday or Saturday.

the bike is all together and riding now, went for a little ride around town and ran some errands this morning, passed a cool covered bridge on broadway and had to stop for a quick picture
