I went and bought a hitch to get put on for the Toyota expo but I could not get the hardware to mount it. Thursday night came around and still couldn't get ahold of anything so I said screw the hitch. I headed to Expert Offroad before i headed to the trails on Friday and Alan and I were able to come with these tow points

When Jim and I make a rear bumper we are just going to reuse these mounts on it.
Big thanks to Alan!!!

Not to burst your bubble but, .......that's not a very good set up. You need to have it tied into the frame rail as well.(It may be, pics don't show) I don't think what you have there would pass a good ol' MWC tech inspection without a frame rail tie-in. I would not pull on it if asked to do so, unless it went down the frame rail too. Not trying to be rude here, I'd hate to see anyone get hurt.

Haleyes got it. Unless you've got backing behind that, there's no way it's going to hold up. And not just into the frame rail, you'll need at least several inches to a foot of reinforcing plate tied into the frame rail.

No, seriously. Get the hardware, and get your hitch receiver mounted.

I've got a C4x4 bumper with a tire carrier, and those 8 cheesy little bolts aren't enough to even hold that up, let alone a good tug.

I was hoping for some tech advice. I do not have them tied into the frame. It was a last minute build so get me through the weekend. I did NOT need to pull on them. I will be building a new bumper for the XJ within the next month or so, the next time I am wheeling it will be on sept,14&15 for the Kansas Krawl.

Thanks for the advice, and no offense taken thats why i post pics. On the bumper i will definetly tie it to the frame.

Need you a gas tank skid too. I've already put a nice dent in mine, and wasn't even aware I did it. I just happened to see it when I was doing the 8.8 swap.
