TOUGH MUDDER!!!!!!

How many do you have to have to field a team? How long does the course take to run?

I am interested...

According to them it should only take 2 1/2 hours.
and i don't think you have to have a set number of people on a team :dunno: i didn't see it on there anyway

I need to check here more often.

I made a team but now everyone who said they'd do it is backing out.:eyes:

I paid so I'll be in Indiana November 19.

awesome!!

Anyone who does this......is not right in the head.

Any of the leaders at Winterfest can tell you how much work it is running up and down the hills.

Well I know a couple people that did it this past weekend up in WI. A ton of people went to the hospital hahaha, but all in good fun I guess.

last year there was something like 5000 people that did it nation wide. This year its more like 1,000,000.

Up in the WI one, the Wounded Warrior Project had a team also alongside many wounded vets giving it hell.

A guy from work said he completed it in about 1 1/2 hrs. Hes in top shape and went early.

Another buddy is in damn good shape to did it later in the day and it took 4 hrs. The MAIN reason for the difference in time was the amount of people signed up for gate times. Not many early, then after hangovers (probably) more people ran it later on.

I ran/walked/crawled WI last weekend. It was a bear. Worth it to do once, but I've never been experienced something so physically exhausting. I was on a team that took about 4 hours. I'd say we probably spent a total of 1.5 hours (maybe more) waiting in line for the obstacles and I walked every bit of the last 2 miles. The waits were a mixed blessing, it was helpful to catch your breath, but standing around sweating just dehydrates you and lets your muscles tighten up.

I'm not a big guy, and most of the obstacles require lifting your body weight, that's cake for me, but my legs aren't in shape enough to run 10 miles up and down black diamond ski slopes. I'd do it again if I get into good enough shape to run a mini-marathon. That was definately the toughest part for me.

Also, I know they contribute to a good cause, but I can't justify paying $150 +/- again to do it this year. The next one I do, I'm signing up early.

Completely forgot, here's the rest of the story not related to the mudder... my A/C compressor siezed up on my way up to WI. Had to drop it off at the dealer and pick it up on the way back (dealer definately charged me the stranded motorist rate). Ended up being a pretty spendy trip, although the crappy little KIA I rented finish the drive got great milage compared to the XJ.

So $800 and a new compressor later, my A/C doesn't isn't quite blowing cold, cool but not cold. I called Sam Lehman in Bloomington, IL (the dealship that did the repair), and their telling me I have a leak in the system or my h-valve needs to be replaced. I doubt I have a leak. How common is it to see an h-valve go bad?

Might report to the Important thread or a tech forum for the a/c stuff.

To keep the thread on track, I talked to Kyle the owner of the Badlands last weekend about this event. Kyle said that the people putting on the event rented the entire badlands for that weekend. Kyle said that the contract is 18 pages long. He said he probably won't have much to do that weekend because they are doing it all. So I don't know if I'll be down there or not. I am definitely not physically built to do the event.

mac 'I'd do it in my jeep tho' gyvr
