Toter home build

For me it made sense because the only thing I used my truck camper and trailer for was wheelin trips, otherwise it sat at the side of the house and the buggy would be stored in the shop. Now I can store the jeep in the truck and have my shop open for whatever else I want to do. This truck actually got better milage than my old tow rig did when I took it on trips, speed while traveling is about the same which does not bother me now since id did not bother me before. It is just gonna be so much better for my purposes. Been busy working on it this morning, I will go get some pics up in a while

Guys, I didn't mean to sound as though I was condemning it...quite the opposite, it seems like a great fit for some people, especially if you have the room to store it. I do prefer my truck, 14mpg on the last trip to moab with a camper and a jeep behind it on a trailer. Couple that with a 50% fuel blend thats free, and I got 28mpg. I can't hold a candle to the space or convenience you have here though.

I don't know if you are also glueing the wall attached items or not but it helps if you ruff up the FRP siding for better adhesion. Also I did bolt thru the siding on heavy upper cabinets that held the micro wave and upper cabinets but mine were 30" uppers (more weight). Shower, got to have a shower! You can make portable one easy by using RV window curtain track, track rollers, and a shower curtain. Get a shower pan from Home Depot, put the drain extruding about 2" drill the same size hole in the floor with a lid or just rhino line a section in the back and your done!

yuppers, this is probably the most involved part of the whole thing, it has plumbing, electrical and propane and storage all combined, the rest is just a little electrical and framing and insulation and paneling really, the seating and table will be a little more work but nothing like this as far as being involved goes. Once I get this all tied up the rest should go quick

There's a website for RV furniture where you can pick up a 2 captains chairs, a couch bed, and a dinette for under $2200.00. I can get it if you want it! That'll give you an area to sleep 2 to 4 more incase Vanimal and I wanna come along!

we have already decided that guest get to sleep in the garage with air matress's, we will call it the guest house LOL

cabinets are completely built now, list left to do
Do the final finish work on the plumbing, run the electrical that is needed in 12 volt and 110. hook up the propane to the heater and add the vents for it, finally mount the counter top and install the oven and hook it up to the propane. Once I get all this done I will have the kitchen completely functional. Next will probably be getting the front upper bunk completed.

are you planning insulation under the upper bunk?

as someone that's rocked the air mattress straight on the aluminum, it's cold.

went out and figured out exactly what I need to pick up to completely finish out the kitchen, also figured out how I will frame the roof to hold the weight of the rooftop AC unit. I will run over Saturday after work and pick up what I need and will try to get it all done on Sunday

Todays progress so far is,
All the hard lines for hot and cold water done
backsplash wall firred in, insulated and paneling done
stove hood mounted
under overhead cabinet light installed

still need to do
drain tube from sink to waste water tank
tank drain lines for both tanks to outside
run the 120 and 12 volt wires
mount counter down finally and then mount the stove and hook up the propane to it

also got the upper roof support for the rooftop ac mocked into place, gotta do some boxing in and gonna slide a couple peices of Plywood in between the original roof supports to give me a solid mounting point for it

Just finished framing up the roof support fot the AC unit and began to put the insulation up but ran out of Liquid nail, oh well, I needed a break anyways. Will have to pickup some more next time I am over that way

swung by and picked up more liquid nail today, UPS also showed up just a few minutes ago with my window for the front of the box, It is 30" wide by 9" tall, did not want to go too big

If it cools down enough I will go out and start insulating some more of the roof today

Nope, that will be my sons bed area, I am building one in the rear of the living quarters that will go over the hood of the buggy for my wife and I
