The Unofficial Gas Price Thread

$3.59 for Sunoco and both generic stations in Northampton Pa, just on the border of Allentown.

While it sucks to see gas prices going so high, Im glad to see it level out with diesel...maybe I won't feel so bad about driving my truck since I gotta drive something. :D

For me, gas gets any higher, my truck in going to go bye-bye.

Then of course my jeep will sit and rot....again!

I think I must be an optimist.

This country can not survive forever at the rate we are going. Something inside tells me that things will change and get better.

I could be wrong but after all, we survived the late 70s and that oil embargo.

That does sound good, but I heard from Autoblog that that means you forego other rebates, but I cannot confirm this. So investigate carefully. Not like anyone is buying new vehicles these days...

I read today that anyone buying or leasing a new Jeep (or other Chrysler brand) before June 2nd gets a Fuel Card from Chrysler so that they can buy gas for $2.99 a gallon for the next three years!

Chrysler says it will pay the difference at the pump for you. There is a limit of 12,000 miles of subsidized gas a year for three years.

I pretty much gave the benefit of the doubt to high oil prices to the crap going on in the world then the governor of Montana comes on the news and mentions that they can produce barrels [42 gallons per barrel] of gasoline, kerosene and jet fuels for $55 a barrel using coal to gas, the main issue seems to be that the feds are throwing up road blocks to prevent it from happening. This kind of ticks me off. Our government really is broken.

It's up to $6.86 a gallon here, super is no longer available and the gas is something like 15% alcohol. The rumor is most every car produced before 2001 will sooner rather than later crap out, due to the alcohol.
