that, and weighed, and registered. Registration alone will be about 300 bucks. im seriously thinking about picking it up and just doing all the seals in that engine and then selling it. its hard to justify though cuz i dont see much of a profit in it LOL

I wonder how much rust it has under it being from up north? Plus it is only 2 wheel drive.Can flip a 4.0 in it and smog it that way.Just find a rolled renix 4x4 and go for it.

i wouldnt have enough time to do that kind of a swap. if i got it, i would just do all the seals in the 2.5, clean up and fix the little things on the truck and try to sell it. but yeah i dont think someone would pay much for a 2wd 4 banger MJ. i emailed the guy and supposedly the truck is rust free.

being that it is a 89, to swap out for a 4.0 renix it would have to be another 89 (unless they made renix version to 90). to make it smog legal it needs to be the same year or newer. that is really narrowing down the search for a 4.0 swap engine.

You can install a newer motor into this, then get it setup for that year smog per CA law.Isn't that hard if you look into it. Wiring is the hard part.

Not really digging the front end but this thing looks clean in the pics. It says 200 drivetrain. Bet it won't pass smog. Mexican plates alone makes me think no.

No, sounds like your confused with a full size Waggy. The XJ waggys had a rear D44 option just like any other 80's XJ but they are far and few between. The full size Waggys had a D44 F & R but I think some of the early fullsize ones had an AMC20 in the rear
