Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Just had a workplace health screening for a wellness promotion; basic height, weight, bloodwork, lifestyle survey. We get some kind of discount on our health insurance contribution just for participating, and it's free, so why not. Part of the deal is they give you some kind of score, that a year from now we'll do this again and the idea is that you've improved your score, or at least not gotten worse.
I hate some of the questions on these damn surveys.
"Do you focus your eating habits towards achieving a healthy lifestyle? This includes choosing healthier substitutes for common foods, maintaining a balanced diet, and being aware thet 'every calorie counts'."
No. I don't.
"If no, do you plan on implementing a self-guided nutritional program in the next 6 months?"
What? No. I don't plan on that either.
"Please list the following to the best of your knowledge: your blood pressure, cholesterol level, triglyceride level...Note: inability to answer these questions may harm your overall score due to a lack of health awareness and screening measures."
I don't know any of these things. I weigh 130 lbs and have single-digit body fat, and have not changed that in over 13 years.
"How many alcoholic beverages do you have on an average night? 0, 1, 2, 2+"
2 or more is where that category stops? Really?
"Describe your use of any of the following: cigarettes, cigars, flavored tobacco, smokeless tobacco?"
- use regularly
- have used
- never use
Well, hmm. Not regularly. I'll go for days without even thinking about it, then have an occasional clove when the weather's nice, or if we're at a drunken campfire, then maybe a few more. Guess I'll go with 'have used'.
"Did you quit the usage of tobacco products a) more than 3 months ago or b) within 3 months ago?"
Wait. I didn't say I quit, just that it's not regular. Hmmph. Ok, well I can lie and say I've never, or I guess it's regular. Let's see where that goes.
"Do you plan on quitting your usage of tobacco products within the next 6 months?"
Not particularly...great.
And so on. Apparently on paper I completely don't give a shit about my health, I'm a raging alcoholic because I had 3 beers last night, and I'm in imminent danger of dying from lung cancer.
This is why I avoid these XXXXing things.
