THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm thinking about picking up a lightly used snapon impact gun for $150.

It's easily 4 times stronger than my craftsman and would be my first snapon tool. Haven't decided if I'm going to pick it up later this week or not.
snapon impacts are nothing special. Get an ingersol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey slackers that haven't ordered yet....

GET YOUR JACKET!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was actually thinking about my jacket yesterday. I wants it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have major ADD and/or OCD and can't stop browsing NAXJA even when there is no new posts. I need to do work.

GET YOUR JACKET!

You should remind us when we aren't all just getting to work. If I was reading this post at 6:00 tonight I would be placing an order, now I have to try and remember

For those if you who have seen the jackets/material... is the 'washed' material worth sacrificing some of the waterproof qualities for? I see the post says it's much softer but may not be as waterproof... wondering if it's worth it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just had a workplace health screening for a wellness promotion; basic height, weight, bloodwork, lifestyle survey. We get some kind of discount on our health insurance contribution just for participating, and it's free, so why not. Part of the deal is they give you some kind of score, that a year from now we'll do this again and the idea is that you've improved your score, or at least not gotten worse.

I hate some of the questions on these damn surveys.

"Do you focus your eating habits towards achieving a healthy lifestyle? This includes choosing healthier substitutes for common foods, maintaining a balanced diet, and being aware thet 'every calorie counts'."

No. I don't.

"If no, do you plan on implementing a self-guided nutritional program in the next 6 months?"

What? No. I don't plan on that either.

"Please list the following to the best of your knowledge: your blood pressure, cholesterol level, triglyceride level...Note: inability to answer these questions may harm your overall score due to a lack of health awareness and screening measures."

I don't know any of these things. I weigh 130 lbs and have single-digit body fat, and have not changed that in over 13 years.

"How many alcoholic beverages do you have on an average night? 0, 1, 2, 2+"

2 or more is where that category stops? Really?

"Describe your use of any of the following: cigarettes, cigars, flavored tobacco, smokeless tobacco?"
- use regularly
- have used
- never use

Well, hmm. Not regularly. I'll go for days without even thinking about it, then have an occasional clove when the weather's nice, or if we're at a drunken campfire, then maybe a few more. Guess I'll go with 'have used'.

"Did you quit the usage of tobacco products a) more than 3 months ago or b) within 3 months ago?"

Wait. I didn't say I quit, just that it's not regular. Hmmph. Ok, well I can lie and say I've never, or I guess it's regular. Let's see where that goes.

"Do you plan on quitting your usage of tobacco products within the next 6 months?"

Not particularly...great.

And so on. Apparently on paper I completely don't give a shit about my health, I'm a raging alcoholic because I had 3 beers last night, and I'm in imminent danger of dying from lung cancer.

This is why I avoid these XXXXing things.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Now you just have to start planning a diet for next october, check your blood pressure, etc, quit smoking for 3 months before next october, and don't drink more than 2 beers per night for the month and you will show a 100% improvement.

I watch my diet (to a degree), quit smoking, don't drink much (anymore), etc and I'm still a XXXXin fatass. I hate skinny people.

Or lie.

Or not care.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I eat whatever the XXXX I want and never gain weight, been within 5lbs of the same weight for like 8 or 10 years now... I had a pound of candy corn for dinner last night

no idea why, but I'm going to take advantage of it while I can.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have been eating salads for lunch, occasionally (depending on the month) maintaining a gym/workout routine, cutting back on snacking, etc all summer and haven't lost a pound. The summer beer season might have had something to do with that but whatever. Still sucks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love the whole mentality of if you're getting over 1500 rpms on the trail, or if you use your skids or rip off CA mounts then you're a lead-footed hillbilly who doesn't know how to drive.

Really? I guess I just like to do challenging trails when I go wheeling, not putt around on the greens on 40s.

Ok I lied, I love doing greens at 30+ mph.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

30mph speedo reading or 30mph ground speed reading?

shit, I guess I like either...

This

I eat whatever the XXXX I want and never gain weight, been within 5lbs of the same weight for like 8 or 10 years now... I had a pound of candy corn for dinner last night

no idea why, but I'm going to take advantage of it while I can.

and this. I might not know my cholesterol number, but that doesn't mean I'm not self-aware...it just means I don't have to be. Obviously if I can hop on my bike and do a fast 4 miles to the train station at a moment's notice, or do a random 3 mile hike over aggressive terrain in a third the time a hiking guide allows, or make a day trip outta hiking to the bottom of the grand canyon and back up again...I'm doing something right. But the only place any of that matters on this dumb survey is one question:

"Do you regularly engage in strenuous physical activity (i.e., activities that cause increased heart rate, mild perspiration, or above-average physical exertion) for more than 15 minutes daily?"

15 minutes? My boss experiences strenuous physical activity every time he gets up to take a shit.

Followed up, of course, by:

"Do you plan to implement a structured physical exercise routine in your daily life within the next 6 months?"

Jesus XXXXing Christ. No, I don't. I'm not a fatass, I'm spontaneous, and more often than not I do this 'exercise' shit completely randomly because it just happens to consist of things that I like to do.

Turns out my blood pressure couldn't be more square in the middle of 'desirable'. I feel so much more self-aware and healthy now, I had no idea.

OK, I'm done with this topic.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just made hot & spicy chicken ramen noodles. I wonder how much sodium this has.

Not really.

And I just found out I'm going to Germany, for realz this time. At least for now. Second week in November.
