Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You can always limit that side a little more if you wanted to. I should probably put another twist or two in the passenger side limit strap.

Yeah I just would like to have a bit more than 6.5" of travel

I'd be fine with around 9-10".

I'm going to take some measurements if I have time tonight to see what I can fit.

Jess doesn't want to make the OD of the shaft tubing any less than 2.25"...not sure I can squeeze that in there.

I told ya, that's why I ended up doing mine the way I did.

Stuff that fits 1.75" ID tubing is fine. Sleeve it to the 1.75" DOM with 2 x .120 and call it a day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can't use 1.75" x .120" can I? Seems kind of lame for a driveshaft, even though it would only be like a 13" section.

My main problem is going to be clearance to the crossmember with single cardan joints.

You can kind of see that in this pic:

Driveshaft almost follows the angle of the control arm

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

THE ASSHOLE THAT ATE HALF MY PIZZA XXXXED ME OVER AGAIN.

he called me earlier today telling me he might be ten minutes late i was like "ok, i just need to get the welding shop before 4:30, ill be able to make that" he was like "yea thatll work" guess who shows up 30 minutes late.

so i drive further to abco which is open til 5 which i thought i had a chance making. i drive about 30 mile round trip only to get there right after 5:00. but literally before 5:01 the guy that was working JUST locked up and was starting his motorcycle and told me "sorry bud, just closed"

so that was a big ol waste of my time and now i cant even work on my j-10 tonight.

Did you read that thread on PBB that Ken suggested? Some funny stuff.

This guy seems like a worthy candidate

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

should i take this trade for the yj?

dude from craigslist said:
i will trade you a 50 inch plasma tv new still in box never opened or i can thrown in sum stuff like 2 pump rifle BB guns, little tvs with dvd player that go,s in car new set of 3 swords with stand new still in box and $200 cash

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if you are serious then it depends on the brand/model TV. You can get lower quality plasmas that wouldn't be worth the trade and some good ones that could be worth the trade if you are in the market for one...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Craigslist ads like this make me smile right now.

1993 Ford Explorer for Scrap (Toms River)

Non-Running 1993 Explorer. best offer. thanks

Toms River is not even a half hour south of me. :D

Jeep Tub/Body w/CJ Tailgate & Tire Carrier Conversion - $250 (Parlin NJ (08859)

I have a 1991 Jeep YJ tub that I converted to accept a CJ tail gate and swing-out tire carrier. The tub has been sitting in my shed for seven years. The Jeep this came off of was never hit or wheeled and came from the original owner. The tub is in good shape with the exception of the rot on the drivers side floor. This can be fixed with a floor patch panel. The price is $250, Including the tire carrier.

That one is not even 15 minutes north of me. Not to mention I'd want to do a CJ tailgate conversion when I do the dovetail anyway.

1994 Ford Taurus SHO - $450 (Fairfield)

1994 Ford Taurus SHO, Green, Motor runs great clean title Transmission problems

That one is about 45 mins north.

Hey look, my project has a body, chassis, rear axle, front axle, engine, computer, and wiring harness for under a grand.

I have been trying to get myself off of CL lately. I get too many dumb ideas that I can't pursue until I have my own house. :rof:

And I just finished a glass of Laphroaig Quarter Cask. Damn this stuff is delicious, highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys whisky.

Now I have buff chix pizza and Bruins.

Tonight is a good night.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've emailed all those people...this may turn out to be a ridiculous weekend.

I fully envisioned this project starting out as an explorer, a YJ, and a Taurus all lined up in my backyard. Just didn't think it'd happen all at the same time. Maybe this is a sign or something.

When I was doing the XJ 4 years ago I really had no interest in knowing how much money was going into it. With this thing coming together this cheaply, I really want to track expenses this time, if only for bragging rights. I know the devil is in the details, but between this initial outlay and the money I'll get for selling parts, it's gonna work out nicely I think.

And I have to put the transfer case back in the XJ still...the new doubler housing is coming back from my buddy who's welding it this week. That's easy. Then water pump, front bumpstop, a few odds and ends, and it'll be good to head up to New York on the 13th.

I've been slacking on projects lately, time to get back into the swing of things... :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Goddamnit. I just missed most of the 2nd period of the game because I happened to walk downstairs and give my input on my mother's sewing machine blowing circuit breakers... It appeared that I was right and that immediately prompted a "well how about you pull out the soldering iron and fix it, and no don't wait until tomorrow" attitude from my father.

I really gotta get my own house.
