But he went off a 20ft kicker at Waterville Valley

Ive never been to Waterville and not had somebody in my group need medical attention. One kid broke his arm and had the bone sticking thru his skin. Yuckie!! I dont ski there now, its cursed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Chris, are you running 16" rims?

Sam says yes.

Correct. Basic GM factory truck wheels with a weld-on beadlock kit.

Chris, what are you looking for in a Explorer? My buddy's little brother is going to be selling a running and driving 00/01 4x4 Eddie Bauer for $300. In Plaistow NH

Nah, first gen. Lookin' for the TTB front end; that one would have the dual A-Arms. Thanks for lookin out though.

Conditions were not good and we had plenty of reason to not ride but we went against better judgment. First ride up the lift some girl was knocked out in the middle of a trail with people all around her and blood on the trail. It was real granulated top layer with ice underneath and it was REAL fast. Not at all how I was expecting to end off our season of riding.

"That's not blood, it's hydraulic fluid."

- what a ski patrol guy told a passer-by when I managed to knee my own face coming off a crappy drop a few years ago

My trip to Hunter a few weeks ago was the same way...fast as shit. I dig the hell outta that on skis but the boarders were having a really bad day. Reference my storytime post from a week or two ago for the details...but we put up 33 top-to-bottom runs that day and could have easily made 50.

In other news, I took my doubler/t-case apart tonight and put it back together. Sure enough the clocking ring bolts had come loose. Put 'em back in with red locktite and sealed everything up good...should be enough to get it through the season. No other damage.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i think i might run dodge 17" steelies on my jeep if i cant afford to get blingin wheels... only thing is there is a lip on them so i'd have to cut that off before i put beadlocks on.. no big though. the wheels would be almost free.

also, my nalgene is starting to smell a tad like mildew.. may be time to wash it..

That's good news. Did you put loctite on the first time? I put blue on every drivetrain bolt I had (flywheel, pressure plate, bellhousing, adapter, t-case input, etc.)

What is your definition of blingin wheels? Like Stazwerks or something?

In other news, I'm not sure I'm going to be done for NACfest...just starting to really feel the pressure now and I still have so much to do.

Intwesting... How much did you have to clearance the calipers?

Holes wallowed out and/or bolts bent? Weird that there seems to be no other damage.

I don't remember, I built it well over 4 years ago.

I will say this though. It's the first time I've had the clocking ring off since then. I never put RTV behind it, and I always had a slight leakage issue from oil getting past the bearing retainer and getting behind the clocking ring. I've tried to fix this 3 times, but one of the bolts for the clocking ring was so seized in there - either from loctite or RTV - that I broke/twisted 3 allen sockets trying to get it out. That bolt was hand-tight when I took it apart last night. Weird shit.

Shut up, faggot. You really don't have all that much.

Intwesting... How much did you have to clearance the calipers?

Um, none?

Factory wheels, as in, these wheels came stock on GM trucks with 8 lugs...

They're countersunk socket head cap screws (the ones with the 45* tapered seat). So really no damage to the holes. I just cleaned all the threads and put 'em back in.

No whining here, I got into work late but I'm taking an hour or two of PTO so I can get home tonight and hopefully finish up the passenger side rocker. Tomorrow I'll patch the floors and hopefully by Friday I can paint it before Rob stops over.

I think I've been hauling ass at a nice pace so far.

I had that problem with my RuffStuff covers. I literally torched a hole around the bolt in the HP44 housing so I could get the cover off.

I bought a MAC tools 3/16 allen head specifically for that reason. Every other bit broke/twisted. This one takes some serious abuse, but it was $11. Well worth the money though IMO.

Shut up, faggot. You really don't have all that much.[/QUOTE]

My current list of dumb shit, not all inclusive though. More I'm missing:

-Shock mounts
-Plate front crossmember under winch
-Set rear axle at ride height, tack on perches
-Build spring pack/shackle location
-t-case skid (1.75x.120 DOM 180* bend, 1/4" plate tabs, 1/4" plate bolted to tabs)
-Drill out leaf spring center pins to 7/16 and use socket cap bolts
-Patch floor rust
-Cover floor over UCA
-Hydroboost
-Build PS reservoir mount
-Build fuel cell mount
-Relocate battery to bed
-Plumb fuel system, brake system, axle and t-case vents
-Trim front fenders
-Exhaust
-Build driveshafts
-Build OBA setup (or run ARB mini comp?)
-Build seat mounts
-Bumpstops
-Limitstraps
-Route wiring harness, patch into stock rear MJ harness for lights/fuel pump
-Reinstall dash, new heater core, etc.
-Build gearbanger

Nothing all that crazy

Oh. But I'll bet those won't clear Ford brakes...

Weird. I remember that you had a huge issue with the front output dropping out of gear with the JB whatseedoozee setup and that the problem was that they didn't have the little bump in the gear... What are you running for outputs right now in your D300?

My T18 is in the back of my comanche outside in the rain :(
Go wrap it in a trashbag.

Pop quiz. Why did my electric bill double over the last month?
electric space heater? you don't seem like the type that'd do that.

oh I know. Dehumidifier in the basement.

-Build PS reservoir mount
-Build fuel cell mount
-Relocate battery to bed -Adam's job
-Plumb fuel system, brake system, axle and t-case vents -Me or adam can do this while you do something more productive
-Trim front fenders - Adam's job
-Exhaust -Make Bill do it

-Reinstall dash, new heater core, etc. -Similar as above
-Build gearbanger -You're only doing this to steal my idea

Nothing all that crazy

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

 Yeah true. Just a lot of small stuff though that takes a lot of time getting parts/doing it.

It's not waterproof!?

XXXX

I'd just be worried about the machined tip on the input shaft that goes into the pilot bearing. I doubt the internals will be a problem.

Also you had the input gear for the D20 hanging off in the open.

Humidifier? Sump pump? Neighbor stealing power?
-Shock mounts - This weekend, do them.
-Plate front crossmember under winch - Skip if you have to, Chris and I are fine.
-Set rear axle at ride height, tack on perches - This weekend, do them.
-Build spring pack/shackle location - This weekend, do them.
-t-case skid (1.75x.120 DOM 180* bend, 1/4" plate tabs, 1/4" plate bolted to tabs) - We can do this when you come up to gear the axles.
-Drill out leaf spring center pins to 7/16 and use socket cap bolts - This weekend, do them.
-Patch floor rust - This weekend, do them.
-Cover floor over UCA - This weekend, do them.
-Hydroboost - Stop crying, you have the parts like.
-Build PS reservoir mount - Took me 15min.
-Build fuel cell mount - This next week, do this.
-Relocate battery to bed - This next week, do this.
-Plumb fuel system, brake system, axle and t-case vents - This next week, do this.
-Trim front fenders - Took me 45min.
-Exhaust - Stop crying, you have it easy.
-Build driveshafts - Took me 30min to cut down the front.
-Build OBA setup (or run ARB mini comp?) - Figure it out nancy, Adam already did this for you.
-Build seat mounts - Woopie, an hour with some little box tubing.
-Bumpstops - Bolt em in, or weld 'em on either way not long time.
-Limitstraps - Measure, order, wait, 5 min to install.
-Route wiring harness, patch into stock rear MJ harness for lights/fuel pump - Week after next, do this.
-Reinstall dash, new heater core, etc. - Week after next, do this.
-Build gearbanger - Week after next, do this.
-gear/assemble axles - Didn't we have a date for this? Plus assembly is easy and shouldn't take but 3/4 a day drunk to do both from empty housing to rolling.

Nothing all that crazy

I'm just going to spray it with wd40. The input gear is already rusted and it doesn't matter. I'll hit it with a wire brush it'll be fine. I've driven around with stuff in the back many times before.
