this is the conclusion I came to every time I considered how to fix my 96 fully, like I said. I considered chopping it, but every time I looked at it again I couldn't find a real good reason to keep that much body, till I reasoned myself into cutting it at the firewall... and then what's the point?

So I ghetto fabbed it back together and now I'm having a blast beating the hell out of it.

Find yourself a donor for ultra cheap with a blown drivetrain, slap some axles in it and drop your drivetrain in, and get wheeling... if you do it cheap enough you can build the awesome jeep on the side. I've put 150 bucks or so into fixing my XJ since last July:
* free d30 - thanks to Rob
* radiator swapped in (already had it planned, did it at the same time as my trans swap) and about 30 bucks worth of tranny cooler hose, clamps, and fluid
* 2 driver side mirrors (damn it) for about 50 total
* 20 bucks for a new downpipe after I bent mine double (still haven't installed it)
* new brake line when I tore one in half (20 bucks)
* 3 bucks on fuses and electrical tape after fall crawl when my wiring harness got chewed by the driveshaft
* misc junk I'm forgetting

and 100 into upgrades - winch, so I can wheel more like a retard without slowing the rest of the crew down, if they want to take the bypass while I knock myself silly on a hill climb and have to winch myself out, that's ok... I hate being the guy slowing everyone else down.

I honestly think I've spent more on gas for the damn thing than I have fixing it. Gotta get that downpipe installed.

If I can keep my piece of junk running and wheeling for this cheap, you can probably do better.

I've definatly overloaded my ford... This winter I had the plow on in and then my boss dropped a skid (70) 50lb bags of salt.... 3500lbs in the bed and it didnt notice the weight until you had to stop hahah... Dont get me wrong it was saggin but powerwise didnt feel it..

Oh, it'll be fun for sure. I think you'll be having to stop a lot to wait for it to clear up though.

Lots of Rain-X and use the good Rain-X washer fluid too, put fresh wipers on. You *did* keep the wiper motor, right? :D

This is after finishing only half of the 7-miler. :laugh:

Looped out at the lip of a 20 foot kicker went upside down and never recovered. Knocked out and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I sat in the ER for 4.5 hours till his mom and bros got there.

My computer just did something strange.

After restarting, I was staring at a black screen with a cursor on it, waiting for a few minutes for something to happen. I got bored and hit ctrl+alt+delete, low and behold the task manager came up, and there were already quite a few processes running, but I have no start menu, desktop, etc.

Via Run...,I tried restarting both dwm.exe and explorer.exe, nothing.

I tried starting firefox, and here I am. Firefox appears to be the only thing running right now. Still no desktop or start menu.

Thoughts?
