So I'm attempting to rebuild the shutter release button assembly on my camera. Apparently this is a known point of failure on these cameras; mine has lasted since mid-2006 which is a huge anomaly. Mine was also one of the early production models which were better.

Camera is a Sony DSC-H2, nothing fancy compared to some of the equipment on here, but a real decent non-SLR with 12x optical zoom. The repair kit was $18, which is worth trying on it.

This thing uses the tiniest XXXXing hardware. In the attached photo, the little black dot next to the dime (with the screwdriver pointing at it) is the C-clip that holds the button in the housing. This is what failed on mine originally and causes the button to pop out of the camera housing.

Currently waiting for the Krazy glue securing the shaft to the new button to cure. Then I get to assemble the shutter release and try to get that tiny clip in place.

That's a cool little truck. I think my favorite would be a diesel 4spd VW Caddy.

only thing keeping me from getting a vdub is that it's a vdub. theyre junk. i'd buy a new one in a heartbeart with a warranty though.

i'll never buy a jeep as a designated DD unless its a nice new one. i'll just dump money into it. i really just want an old wagon or pickup with a four banger.

I had a the 2.3L and liked it in every aspect aside from the 8 spark plugs that would corrode into the head. Eff that Ford/Mazda!:twak:

This is what I have learned. Don't buy a vehicle you like when it's modded. Or one that is cheap to mod. It turns out bad real fast. My Jeep was supposed to be a mild 3" lift and 31s to give it a tougher stance and easier to go down hunting trails. Now I'm on 33's locked f&r and planning a one ton swap.

My Jeep was supposed to be a mild 3" lift and 31s to give it a tougher stance and easier to go down hunting trails. Now I'm on 33's locked f&r and planning a one ton swap.

i bought my subie to be my DD.... then i bought everything i needed for a WRX swap....

i wont leave anything untouched unless it's an absolute pile... like the 93 sundance i had as my first car. but if its a pile i wont drive it. i'd drive it into a wall after flipping it over, i'd be like "AWESOMEEEEE" but then i'd be out a few hundred bucks.

but i'd drive a rare pile... like an old school volvo wagon. i'd drive the piss out of that. then toss some lowering springs and good struts on it, nice tires.. before you know it i'd be auto-xing it.

i have a disease.

Exact reason I have a 2003 Honda Civic coupe. I had a 1991 VW Fox with 76k on it and was planning a full Audi 1.8t swap with MK2 Jeeta suspension. Sold it because I knew it was going to go down hill fast.
