THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just realized Ken's screen name is his name K-A-Stein

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Totally know what you're talking about. The rear I'm not worried about too much. And I plan on getting the frame work done first. I will have a full set of stiffeners welded on before I really even start on buying and building axles.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm sure it will work, the question is how well will it work?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That probably depends on whether you have to call the FAA up for clearance every time you wheel it :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You're going to have problems with the link mounts being on the frame and having clearance for your tires especially with H1s.

Here's an idea of full lock driver with H2s and 40s.

My Jeep has the links mounts on the frame rails and I wish they weren't. With the H2s and 37s it still rubs at full lock. Someday I want to build a new crossmember and redo the lowers.

Fawk. Looks like I can add a crossmember to that list.

Building the crossmember to me was really fun and not that bad.

Bobbing the bed and doing the wheel wells is going to be ghey.

yeah, my main concern would be the fact that instead of starting fresh I'd just be trying to rework something that's pre-existing. Whatever though, I'm not worried about it and it's not anywhere in the near future :)

On a side note, picked up a bunch of steel today for the bender. They didn't have any 5/8" plate though, but I don't need much so I can just try another place for that. Scott and I will continue cutting and commence welding on Thursday :) Also will probably buy the ram on Friday. Need to find a couple bushings, and aside from that I think it's just a matter of putting it together!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i kinda wish i built my own cross member, i think i would modify the frame rails so the arms sit higher without having to inboard em

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just found out my only class on Tuesdays is an 8 week course, and my only class on Mondays is getting moved to Fridays. I'm going to have a 4 day weekend every week in a few weeks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

badass! that's pretty sweet dudeeee

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This is making me want to weigh my wheel/tire setup.

I gots a heavyass setup. Lowers my COG ;)

LIKE!

I also plan on be able to also fit 4D's after the treps die. I don't know how, but my rob style backspacing will make it happen :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

to build a 3 link:

figure out where you can fit your link mounts

measure some shit and put it in a calculator

move links around a little bit here and there until you have a sweet antisquat %

brag to your friends about your awesome antisquats

weld some mounts where yo sweet percents were

wheel
Exactly. Nothing much to worry about up front it isn't like building a link setup out back.

Can't mount them to high of you get in the way of the t-case output.

Good luck. You'll need 2" backspacing and spacers to make them fit.
