THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha, I've had a folder of "halo" cage pics in my Jeep pictures folder for a while now.

I've always liked Ba-Reido's and IXNAYXJ's

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if i drove a J10 it would have to have a tornado weather analyzer in the bed

That's all included in the Honcho package. I took mine out to go wheeling.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just figured out why Bill wears New Balance. They're made in Skowhegan, ME.

My marketing teacher told the class today Dunkin Donuts is a british or french company. I did a quick search and it was started in Quincy and is now headquartered 3 feet away from me in Canton, MA. Unless it is owned by some parent company I think he is wrong.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not too mention all that stupid uptravel I had before.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hahah, dammnit Adam, I had those ideas first.

I think if I do a halo, I'd have the a pillar bar to rain gutter bar one piece, like Bill did.

:dunno: my car is perfect for what I bought it for. I'm only planning to sell it once I get a tow rig that does well enough mileage-wise to not feel dumb to DD it. It's reliable as shit, and I'm a huge fan of the interior. Mazda did a great job with using quality stuff for the interior... I figure I spend all my time in the car, so that's what counts. And with the 17s I got for it that I had on it in the summer, IMHO it looks pretty nice as well. Good mileage, good reliability, decent looks, comfortable, reasonably cheap, no ricers wanting to race me all the time... I think I made out pretty well.

sounds like it's time for a road race. You do realize mine's turbo'd and chipped :kissyou:

Beating T-pains family sedan shouldn't be hard.

Read above about no ricers wanting to race me....guess I was wrong

:D

True, I mean, even my GTI is fwd. It's my one complaint about the way the car drives. You get used to under vs oversteer pretty quickly when putting it through its paces.

Understeer is scary as shit and sucks dick.

pretty much what i want to do, its super simple. but i'm adding a bar across the cowl to tie the a-pillar bars together and i dont like how he did the d-pillar bars... plus i'll be running resi shocks through the floor.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ya, I like how his hugs the roof, I would definitely be doing that. I also didn't like his C-pillar bars where they attach to the rear inner fender wells.
I haven't looked at the feasibility of it yet, but I wanted to add a bar thru the cowl, rather than above it.

See how Bill's A pillar bar is different than the others. The others have a bar that goes up to the top "halo," where as Bill's A pillar bars are part of the halo. Chris did the same thing.

yea i meant C pillar.. basically that part of his cage is the only thing i dont like.

i plan on doing some sort of engine cage.. the a-pillar bars will be tied into the inner fenders (behind the actual fender) and i'm thinking of drilling through there somewhere and tieing that into the cowl/firewall, then adding a bolt-on engine cage to that to tie into the air bumps. the brake booster prevents you from running it on the outside, and makes for some complication on the inside as well. it can def be done though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm going to borrow a bender from the first person who lets me and build the quickest cage possible requiring the least amount of forethought.

I agree, I think your car was a very smart buy.

VWs are made on the wrong side of the world to be ricers. Germany is known for beer and sausage- way cooler than miso soup. (but I have to admit, sushi is effing delicious.)

Understeer takes getting used to. You can steer it through the turns just the same you can do it with RWD. With RWD you let off the gas to keep the vehicle going where you want and counter steer. FWD you give it more gas and point the wheels past where you actually want to go. It ends up pulling it through the turn. Scary as shit the first few times, but you get the hang of it.
