Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A bunch of chicks I was just out at the bar with were wearing shifty shoes. I was wearin mah boots and my feet are warm, dry, and not stepped on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark is right, explorer ebrake shoes SUCK ASS. What I'd do - bore one of those holes larger to a socket fits through. Probably asking for the flange to break later though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What I want to know is why people were on their computers in the middle of a fine Saturday and not working on something.

Seriously. I was working on a rav4, but at least I was welding not on the computer

Looks like everyone else said the same thing as me about drilling, I should have read the last two pages before replying I guess :dunno:

8am on a sunday and I'm about to start my brake line, wheel cylinder, and gas tank project... Hell yeah! Weather is PERFECT

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I put a new front D-Shaft and sway bar endlink on my buddy's stocker 2-door. So I took his old shaft and keeping it as a spare, the u-joint was making noise.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

not that anyone cares. but the strip pole was a hit, and i love being within a 40 second walk to several parties, several bars, and a couple pizza joints

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony, remember when we were talking about the collar that you press on the rear axle shafts, and how it would be impossible to hammer on?

Well I thought my 12 ton press was going to explode while doing it yesterday. I'm sure its because it is a Harbor Freight press, but it kept shifting the axle to one side, so it would get crooked, and it took me about 10 minutes to do one.

Also, I told you there was metal shavings afterwords.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark I think it's time for you to give up on your Jeep. sell some crack and pay a shop to finish it for you :kissyou:

Or trailer the junk up here and I'll do it.

My Jeep failed inspection and then I was in Maine, does that count for being outside? :D

And today I got to bring my brother to church and then to soccer. Then I cooked up steak tips and mac and cheese. I am now eating said foodstuffs before heading out to clean the hell out of the garage. Then maybe I will address my electrical gremins (my turn signal problems that went away on their own a while back... they conveniently came back on the drive to the inspection station ). Looks like the Jeep won't be ready/broken in for wheeling next wkend :(

why'd it fail? i thought you had an insider!

oh, and i'm going to go have a fancy lunch with my dad and stepmom for my graduation, and to get MY NEW WELDER! whooo!

I kindof do have an insider. But my electrical gremlins came back on the drive to the inspection (the same ones that fixed themselves on the drive to the UJ xmas party) so my turn signals weren't working properly and one of the things I NEEDED to have working to pass was lights. So I get to start debugging my turn signal grounding issue now  Well it failed for that and I had a reverse light out (the one set of lights I didn't check before going to get the inspection) and my license plate wasn't mounted to the bumper (I had every intent to mount it before inspection but completely forgot about it when I was rushing to patch my exhaust and replace my brake light). My steering is still kinda sloppy but that passed fine. Oh and while backing out of the inspection bay my engine was whining a bit, I think a bearing somewhere might be on its way out. Or maybe it was just a sound I'm not used to hearing since I don't usually drive in large garages and hear every noise my Jeep makes. The guy doing the inspection was asking about if my rear axle was welded due to the scrubbing but I got to explain lockers to him. :)

Note to self: don't plan an inspection when you have repairs to do and limited time to get it all done. On Friday morning I had to go to the parts store (probably about a 30-40 min round trip for me), patch exhaust, replace tail light, fix a few other odds and ends, and then get an inspection (40 min round trip plus time to actually do the inspection) all before 10AM. I overlooked a few minor details before leaving for the inspection  Oh well, looks like the Jeep won't be wheeling next weekend is all. Still on track to be ready for lobsters though

edit: and that was the greatest surprise ever! I just finished eating and then moved my plate from my desk to find one steak tip that had fallen off my plate and was hidden from view. I love finding an extra steak tip after I think my meal is over :D

damn... that's crazy.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So a while back someone (I think it was Rob but I'm not sure) mentioned that they need a new lawnmower and can't scavenge the dump metal pile anymore.

I may have one pretty cheap. Idk if it has run in the past few years (since my father got a ride on) but I remembered that he was talking about needing to get rid of his old push mower. idk if he ever junked it but if it's still out back I could probably negotiate a free/cheap price tag. I was hoping to keep it around here until I buy my own house but idk when that will happen anymore so :dunno: figure might as well give it a new home

i did mine with a long pipe, a vice and a 10 lb sledge hammer. went right on. helps to heat up the collar and put the shaft in the freezer tho

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

motor ss now on engine stand good thong i got bolts longer then needed had to use a 1/2" worth of washers so the driveplate would clear the arms

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

motor is on the stand, and as you can see i like to use ziploc's and zip ties, as of now intake and header is off

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got a semi-partially-OK to buying a trailer :D aka I may have an OK if there is enough space behind my fathers office to store one (and if there isn't enough space I will go out there and clear enough space for one). I may not have to worry about driving the Jeep home from the trails in a few weeks :rof:
