Anyone of you buttmunches know what would cause one side of the engine to run lean/misfire? I'm thinking intake gasket but the plugs were seriously carbon fouled so I suspect the cat is plugged as well(excessive back pressure which carbon fouled the plugs). Although that should richen the fuel mixture, but perhaps not enough to combat the leanness caused by let's say a vacuum leak?
So i'm thinking something is up that's causing the passenger side of the engine run lean which caused misfires which inturn caused excess fuel to enter the cat and eventually killed the cat?
Sunday I'll test it for vacuum leaks and see where that takes me. BTW, this is on an E250 with a 4.6l.

X2, or cut the bolt on both sides of the bushing, it's easy if you don't care about the unibody
travis, call me when you can...
its the stock main leaf that has 203k on it, the frt bolt is siezed inside the bushing, it aint worth saving, i cut off the bolt head and outer mount plate on the pass side, they aint comin off and i aint dealin with it im just gonna pull the reat of the leafs, there good for a solid 2-2.5" of lift, im gonna sel them cheap so they dont winf up in the 98
I never actually got out riding today since the bike is still in the shed and there is a 50 foot puddle/soft ground between the shed and the driveway.. so needless to say I can't get it out right now.
Edit: Thinking of bikes and not being able to make it through the dirt... maybe I should go try and get a clutch cable for the XT350 and take that for a ride. Hmmmmm.
Wahooo! I just went out to try and start up the motorcycle and expected it to be a PITA, but she fired right up!arty: I can't wait to get out riding again
Only problem is that it seems to be having a hard time getting out of neutral. IIRC it started doing that after I did an oil change late last summer or early fall (I used a heavier oil than I should have since it was getting cool out). Hopefully an oil change with a lighter oil will clear that up. It only did it the first time I took it out each day; after that it was fine. i start mine about every other week and just let it run for a little while... makes me sad. but mine has a hard time getting into N from 1st sometimes. i find it works best when warmed up (by far) and also makes a difference with how it was parked.
