THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

why waste the leafs? just cut the spring hanger out of the unibody.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

X2, or cut the bolt on both sides of the bushing, it's easy if you don't care about the unibody

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone of you buttmunches know what would cause one side of the engine to run lean/misfire? I'm thinking intake gasket but the plugs were seriously carbon fouled so I suspect the cat is plugged as well(excessive back pressure which carbon fouled the plugs). Although that should richen the fuel mixture, but perhaps not enough to combat the leanness caused by let's say a vacuum leak?

So i'm thinking something is up that's causing the passenger side of the engine run lean which caused misfires which inturn caused excess fuel to enter the cat and eventually killed the cat?

Sunday I'll test it for vacuum leaks and see where that takes me. BTW, this is on an E250 with a 4.6l.

how are the 02's reading?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So this morning I said I might leave early; I was kinda joking. I think I am leaving within the next 15 minutes. I have accomplished everything I had to do today... for the most part. The rest of my stuff is testing over the wkend.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got home from buying front rotors/pads for the altima. Looks like I know what I am doing tomorrow (unless I motivate myself to do it tonight).

its the stock main leaf that has 203k on it, the frt bolt is siezed inside the bushing, it aint worth saving, i cut off the bolt head and outer mount plate on the pass side, they aint comin off and i aint dealin with it im just gonna pull the reat of the leafs, there good for a solid 2-2.5" of lift, im gonna sel them cheap so they dont winf up in the 98

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wahooo! I just went out to try and start up the motorcycle and expected it to be a PITA, but she fired right up! I can't wait to get out riding again :D

Only problem is that it seems to be having a hard time getting out of neutral. IIRC it started doing that after I did an oil change late last summer or early fall (I used a heavier oil than I should have since it was getting cool out). Hopefully an oil change with a lighter oil will clear that up. It only did it the first time I took it out each day; after that it was fine. I never actually got out riding today since the bike is still in the shed and there is a 50 foot puddle/soft ground between the shed and the driveway.. so needless to say I can't get it out right now.

Edit: Thinking of bikes and not being able to make it through the dirt... maybe I should go try and get a clutch cable for the XT350 and take that for a ride. Hmmmmm.

i start mine about every other week and just let it run for a little while... makes me sad. but mine has a hard time getting into N from 1st sometimes. i find it works best when warmed up (by far) and also makes a difference with how it was parked.

i want to ride :(

That's why I said I should get the XT up and running to take that for a ride... I just called to order a clutch cable and have to go in tomorrow to pay before they order it. Damn shop. But yeah, that is the XT, my street legal trail bike... no problems going across the yard  And before saying anything it has new fork seals now... so don't go giving me any "your fork seals look shot" comments. :laugh3:

That's the same problem mine has. It has trouble the first time I put it in gear every day (or if there is a good 5 hours between rides).

While on the phone with the parts shop I talked to the service dept and they said it COULD be too heavy of an oil but he wasn't sure. Said he could be shift forks aka a 1500$ repair job if the shop did it. If my shift forks are fawked then the bike might be going from an FZX700 to an FZX1000... I love it when 1000cc engines are bolt in swaps :D:D

Mine does also seem to be more problematic when it is cold.. one time last season i let the engine warm up for a good 20 min before riding, I think it went into gear fine. Probably oil; hopefully oil... Anyway.

Edit: And if I wasn't lazy and did what my father recommended I do I would be out riding right now. He said I should take my couch out of the storage garage I have down the road and put it in his basement (his couch is shot). Then I could put the bike in the storage bay and that area is cleared out and I could be out riding right now... damnit.. shoulda listened.
