Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Morning all

Blower motor resistor seems to run over $100! Damn, looks like I am going to the JY and pulling a few of them to make sure one works. And I don't know if its a requirement, I just know I had one guy ask me if heat worked :dunno: I figured heat was a requirement (but AC is not). I would never have worried about heat working or not except that, well, I am getting inspected in the middle of winter. In the past it's always been done in the summer so things like that could slide by

Shoot me a pm if you need that stuff...where are you seeing $100?? I don't know which year you have but unless it's a dealer only one, that's way too much.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm jealous of you manual guys, you can get the equivalent of 4.10s out of the junkyard for $200 total, bolt-in. ANY junkyard that has cherokees.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i mean, still gotta be 2.5 xj's for the front to get a 4.10.

you mean just using the stock 3.55? cause 4.10 is still the goal for 31's

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

SHouldaaaa gotaaah 5 speeddddd:wave::owl:
My priority when I bought this jeep was getting to/from work, and I still don't know how to drive standard

My next jeep I buy to keep will be a standard, for this and other reasons.

EDIT: Mark, yeah that's what I meant - going off the logic that 3.55/3.07 is about equal to 4.10/3.55.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I figure I'll buy a 200 or 300 dollar crapcan (so long as it has a solid engine/tranny and frame) and use it to learn standard and build something I won't mind rubbing up against rocks/trees/whatever. Still just a pipe dream though.

1993. I did a quick google search for "1993 jeep xj blower motor resistor" before I left this morning and the first result was like $110 (on sale from $130). I didn't do any research at all so maybe that was the only listing at that price. I was half way out the door and was ready to click "submit" on that post... then checked google and added the info about the price before leaving for work. So maybe a bit more searching will find me better prices. will PM if I don't find anything in a much cheaper range

EDIT: Found the blower motor resistor for anywhere between $25 and $40 at autozone. Hopefully that is my problem, would be awesome to not have to re-run vacuum lines. :)

i top out at 45 on a normal day of driving. love the 307s
i hear ya on that one.. stock gears and 33's are like oil and water
I never had THAT much of an issue with 3.07's and 33's :dunno: It wasn't FUN, but it was definitely drive able, even at fast lane highway speeds.

Edit: I was going to say Ken can learn on my Jeep (after I regear) or Altima, both standard.. but if your offering your Jeep, that works too.

I tried to teach 3 people how to drive standard on my Jeep before regearing. One couldn't learn, one ended up killing the Jeep for a few hours, and one learned but said he didn't like it cause it was too hard and motorcycles were much easier... though he understood that it was hard due to my tires/gearing. Come to think of it, only the guy was able to drive it.. the other two were girls, hmmmm

I would sh1t bricks if I had a 37 spline D80.

How do I go about breaking this?

I found these the other day looking around a storage yard. The small one in the back by the tree is a D80. I dont know what the bigger ones were, massive pumpkins.

I'm sorry but that is just plain stupid. Driving in the snow is one thing, but driving fast is just plain outright dumb.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like the lowered imports that drive at 5mph either, but 40-45 or 60+ is ... I'm at a loss of words at how dumb it is.

I'm guilty of going fast in my truck alot during snow storms, not usually around other people but the hiway I usually make people move. I also keep it locked in 4wd.
Down the street from my work I had the black truck sideways going down the road coming out of an intersection. It was fun, the guy brushing his car off just stopped and stared. That thing must look retarded like that. I'm a retard.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you can borrow my jeep for a day, now that i got the rangerr.:looney:
Should I return it to you with or without a working clutch? :dunce:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm a retard.
But being a retard is fun. I still admit my previous moves (60+ in a pretty bad storm on highway, 40-45 on bad condition backroad) was dumb and I probably wont be doing them again. But it is fun (which is why I did it for stress relief, it was better for my health than smoking... well.. so long as I didn't get in an accident).

Well... uhhhh... now that it's winter again I have to admit that I can't say I WON'T be doing them again... I just don't know that 100% sure. But looking back I admit it was dumb and I don't PLAN on doing them again... Last winter I actively looked forward to doing them each time it snowed, so yeah... about that

I need to find myself alot of land for cheap, set up an off road park on one half of it and a race track on the other. So I can be dumb in private. Then I can have people over to just do dumb **** and not get in trouble. I need to marry into wealth since chances are I won't make my own $$. I have one friend whose parents love me and are loaded (though they make her work for her own money so she isn't spoiled). I could deal with her I guess, maybe I should get back in touch with her.

I haven't hit anything over 80 in either of my cars in over a year and a half. 75 is a good speed in good conditions on I93 for me. The last time I did 85 in my Jeep it was stock and I just got it. I wouldn't trust any Jeep other then a SRT-8 at more then 85.
