THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:roflmao:

So I just got the best text message...

"so. I loaded a few hundred lb of wet snow into the back of the truck. It now drives around perfectly in this weather"

(from my friend with the RWD MJ... if that isn't the cheapest traction increase on the planet, I don't know what is)

hows the build on that MJ going btw?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pretty decent, nothing of note has been done recently, just turd polishing. By that I mean I picked up parts to fix the d35 (new diff cover + wheel cylinders) a while ago :puke:

As soon as I stop screwing around and get my new axle into my Jeep, the old one is getting rebuilt and put in the MJ. So I need to either find an hpd30 with 4.10s in it (hahahahah) or buy+install gears, then weld all new stronger brackets to my new axle, swap my axle out, weld all new stronger brackets to the old axle, and swap it in. So a lot of this is waiting on me getting the new rear axle (8.8) ready to go in, solving the rear driveshaft issue, new rims and tires (need the new rims so the tires clear the springs with the 8.8), and a bunch of other stuff.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you guys are making it into 4wd right? wonder why hes staying with the d35

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

He's a cheap bastard, that's why - lol

Total parts are going to come to something like $200 for the whole conversion - got the tranny for free, the transfer case for 50, old front axle from me for 100, front driveshaft and shift levers and stuff for 20, assorted nuts&bolts are going to cost around 30. Adding a hundred bucks for a new rear axle isn't in the budget. I figure eventually he'll manage to blow it up and then a rear axle will magically be in the budget :dunno:

EDIT: yeah yeah, rear driveshaft. Probably getting the old one shortened - speaking of which, anyone got a 4WD AW4 4.0L MJ with a d35? I could use a measurement... center of U-joint to center of U-joint on the main part of the shaft.

check out www.car-part.com

I found them anywhere from $150-$400. May be able to find more/better prices if you search in different areas.

Edit: Based on this post being #24650, in order to reach asp's (anthony was it?) claim that we will hit 25k posts within this week, we need to average 2.38 posts per hour.. Just a random bit of information I calculated since i am bored at work and leaving in 15 min.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think that 2.38 posts an hour is an easy goal. Just make sure to designate someone to stay up every night.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Scott - checked em already. Jean-Guy's wants 500 for it and has no freakin CLUE what they are talking about, they don't even have one but they think they do. Standard Auto Wreckers is right near me and I'm pretty sure they don't actually have one either, but I need to go check. Jeff Canter's Auto World thinks they have one, but they took two weeks of calling and them not calling back for me to give up, and they gave me the gem of a line "well it has a 4.0 in it so it probably has 4.10 gears" then promised to call back a month ago. Thanks though.

EDIT: xcalibur223 - I think we've averaged like 30 posts an hour for the last two hours, so that should average out lol

Haha yea. A very easy task. Maybe it'll hit 25k by the weekend?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That was more along the lines of why I mentioned it. We weren't given a very hard goal. Now if I said I predict to get to 27000 posts within a week from now next week that would be a different story. In that case we would need to do something like 8 posts per hour average... which still isn't all that hard if we do 30 per hour average during the work day, then stay active into the evening. haha.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We should set the bar high for where the post count should be at by year's end.
