THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You mean they're going to do it way better than me AND with a bigger stick shift?
Guilty conscience?

I was getting at the fact that it's so personal and even you hesitate to let even your best friends drive it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So does it not shift into overdrive, or does the TC not lockup? Very different and could be caused by different things.

Asked my friend about it and he said you have to figure out if the computer is commanding OD or not. If it is it could be a shift solenoid, governor, or a blown lipseal on the apply piston. Or wasted clutches in the OD pack. If it's wasted clutches though, it will still shift into overdrive it will just slip.

He said everything but the wasted clutches is cheap.

I think its not shifting at all. cause I could only count 2 shifts when driving. 1-2, 2-3. and it seemed to reving kinda high for it to be in overdrive.

thanks for the help.

I've never had an issue with letting friends drive anything I've owned that was stick. Granted, neither one was/is nice. I was way more nervous about letting anyone drive my old ZJ since it was lifted and I had to explain away the nuances prior to letting them get behind the wheel.

hmm, maybe I'm just a control freak :dunno:

No you're not.

I wouldn't feel comfortable giving anyone the keys to my truck.

I have a hard enough time letting my brother take it to detail it for me

It would be one thing if it was a beater. I worked to pay off my truck and it ain't no $500 beater.

The other answer is that you're a control freak too ;) I don't care though. It's justified.

I can totally understand the mindset.

When I get a decent car, hopefully soon, I'm sure I'll be the same way.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've let people take my truck to go tow shit back from as far as Richmond, VA on a moment's notice.

It's understood in my group of friends, however, that if you return something in a condition other than how it was when you borrowed it, it's your responsibility to fix that. Both time and $$.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, when you renewed your license recently did you have to take a vision test?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I haven't renewed yet.

You just reminded me.

You only have to do that every other time you renew IIRC.

I did it last time.
 Haha, ok. They're requiring that I do it. Sounds like a good excuse to leave early Friday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ugh, should I sell the 60's I have outright for say $900-1000 or should I trade them for a BJ 60 + $500 (so I can steal the outers for my Dodge)? I was also thinking I could always swap the Dodge outers back onto the BJ60 and try to resell that too. That, or cut it up and build some sort of 14b front axle with the 14b housing I have laying around.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This ain't california 60's don't go for big bucks in these parts

I've sold balljoint ford 60s for 250, 300, and 400 in the last year. I'm pretty sure I could pull 700-800 for a mid 80s kingpin if I felt like it.

Speaking of which, I just picked up a '00 rear 60-ISU with perfect discs from a van that drove into the junkyard from auction on Friday. I'm now torn between keeping it for myself and selling it.
